We had our boat there for 6 months. The public restrooms are not taken care of. There is no pump out. We are glad we left.”

Horrible experience. The experience with the owner was bizarre, insulting, and terrifying, all at the same time. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Though I read a few reviews where people complained about the marina owner, I found him a very nice person to deal with. He recommended a nice restaurant, drove us there personally, and gave us the phone number of a local transport service that could drive us back to the marina. They did not have fuel when we were there and the fall hurricanes had left it in some need of repair, but generally speaking it was a nice facility.

Our boat is so well taken care of, and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Great Marina.

Having done business with Sebastian River Marine and Boatyard since 1979, I have found they are a helpful, honorable and qualified facility. They operate at a level greater than many I have dealt with as a 40+ year professional captain. I would recommend them at the highest level. The owner/operator of the facility is from a vast sailing background in the Northeast US and has provided me with info when transiting those areas on the phone. If you need anything from a transient slip for a few days to assistance with a repair don’t hesitate to contact them. It’s well worth it. CAPT JAY SENNE FISH MASTER

Sebastian Riverfront Offers Dining, Nightlife & Activities

The Sebastian Riverfront is like the main strip along Indian River Drive, where you can go to events, listen to live music, and shop. People who like fishing and boating will love it there because of its natural beauty. This section, extending from Riverview Park to the Sebastian Saltwater Marina Restaurant, is actively planned for activities and things to do.

This road was where some of the first fishermen in Sebastian lived. The roadway shows its history as a fishing town with a nearby boat ramp. The river is part of the Indian River Lagoon, and the City of Sebastian is not far from the Atlantic Ocean if you go by boat.

But it’s not just about the nighttime fun. There are lots of things to do during the day, too. There’s a public park, and the city’s parades happen on this road. These parades attract big crowds who line up on both sides of Indian River Drive to watch and enjoy.

Riverview Park

Riverview Park in Sebastian is an incredible spot known for its beautiful waterfront view. It’s the central place to be at the Sebastian Riverfront, hosting many events. Some activities include concerts, fishing contests, festivals, and art shows, attracting people from all walks of life.

The park has green grassy areas perfect for picnics, chilling out, or having fun outside. It’s also a fantastic place for families. There’s a kids’ playground, a volleyball area, and a water play area. There’s also a monument to veterans, a monument to POWs, lots of parking, and bathroom facilities.

Being near the river also means there’s a chance to see lots of local wildlife.

As an essential spot in Sebastian, the park dramatically benefits the local community. It’s known for hosting annual events like the Clambake, River Days & Craft Brew Hullabaloo, and Community Night Out.

It’s also where some of the city’s annual events take place, such as Concerts in the Park, the Sebastian Riverfront Fine Art and Music Festival, July 4th Festivities, Santa at Christmas time, and many other community events happen.

Adding to its charm is the “Twin Piers” next to the park, which people can use for fishing. This area is where the city launches the annual Independence Day fireworks.

Walking along Indian River Drive is where you can watch many local animals, feed friendly squirrels, or enjoy watching boats on the water.

After the sun goes down, the place gets more lively. Walking past many bars and restaurants, you can often hear live music that makes your walk even more fun.

The sidewalk along Indian River Drive is where many locals like to exercise. It’s a favorite place for people who love the outdoors, with activities like fishing, boating, and bird-watching.

Fishing at the waterfront is a fun experience for new and experienced anglers. This area gives you access to the Indian River Lagoon, famous for its many types of fish. Here, you can try to catch snook, redfish, trout, and even tarpon, among other fish.

There are many great spots for fishing. If you like fishing in the open water, you can fish from the shore, the docks, or a boat.

For boating, there are two boat ramps along the riverfront. One is across from the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce, and the other is at the Sebastian Yacht Club.

If you plan to fish, know the local fishing rules, like fishing seasons, size limits, how many you can catch, and who needs a fishing license.

You can get a fishing license from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Or, you can download their app, “Fish | Hunt FL,” and get one there.

Fisherman’s Landing

Fisherman’s Landing is a key spot in Sebastian, often called the “working waterfront.” You can see many clam and oyster farming projects here at the docks. It’s also where commercial fishermen bring their fresh fish to load onto trucks.

The City of Sebastian bought this area using the  Stan Mayfield Working Waterfronts Grant Program . They wanted to save the fishing history and heritage of the site and use it as a learning place for the public. It’s primary use is to promote fishing. 

The main building in this project, once known as “Hurricane Harbor,” was remodeled to hold a big, working wholesale/retail fish market. It also has a museum about the fishing history of Sebastian. The city rebuilt the fishing piers and added boardwalks along the riverfront.

Fisherman’s Landing has a fresh seafood market called Crab E Bills, which opened in 2014. This market also serves as a small eatery where customers can help themselves.

Live music is a big part of Sebastian’s night scene along Indian River Drive. It draws a lot of people who like different types of music. There’s music for everyone, whether you enjoy country, reggae, pop, rock, or blues.

Earl’s Hideaway Lounge is a spot famous for its pizza and music. It might look like a biker bar from the outside, but inside, it’s a much-loved place for tunes. Earl’s even won the 2022 Best Music Award from  Sebastian Daily  readers. Many of these bands are nationally known, making Earl’s a top place for live music.

Another great spot for music is Captain Hiram’s Sandbar. It’s a chill beach bar loved by people who live here and tourists. They offer music from bands in our area and sometimes even host famous bands nationwide, such as Puddle Of Mudd, Pato Banton, and the Doug Flutie Band.

Farther south, along the Indian River Lagoon, is another hotspot called the Tiki Bar & Grill. The bar has a fun, beachy vibe. They often have local bands and musicians who play different music, from rock to blues to country and reggae. Plus, they serve tasty food and cold drinks.

Pareidolia Brewing Company and Mash Monkeys Brewing Company are two beer-making places in Sebastian. They’re famous for their craft beer, which is made right here in our city.

People love Pareidolia Brewing for its unique beers and its comfy, friendly vibe. Visitors like to hang out here to try different beer flavors, chat with friends, and play board games and cards.

Mash Monkeys Brewing is different because they focus on making top-notch, tasty beers. The staff here know beer and can help you choose the best one you like.

Beer fans love both beer places because they let you try a variety of craft beers. Every glass of beer at Pareidolia and Mash Monkeys has its flavor, so every visit feels like a new adventure.

Moreover, these beer places are chill and friendly, making them great spots to hang out and relax. They often have live music, trivia games, and jam sessions where locals can play music.

Restaurants

Sebastian Riverfront is a hotspot for various restaurants, famous for their seafood and grilled dishes. Plus, they all have great views of the water.

Crab E Bills is a seafood market serving food as part of the city’s Fisherman’s Landing project. It’s known for having some of the best seafood around. You definitely should try their lunch specials.

Mo-Bay Grill stands out with its Caribbean-inspired menu. This restaurant serves tropical flavors that give you a taste of Jamaican food. Every meal at this restaurant feels like a food adventure, from spicy jerk chicken to delicious seafood.

The Crab Stop is a favorite place for people who love seafood, especially crab dishes. It’s famous for serving many different dishes, allowing you to try a new seafood style, like crab legs. They provide indoor and outdoor seating.

Blackfins Riverfront Grill, part of Captain Hirams Resort, is a top riverfront restaurant known for its seafood. Eating here is even better because of the great water views. Blackfins’ vibe is both casual and fancy, so it works for any event.

Squid Lips has a fun, casual vibe over the water, giving you fantastic views of the Indian River Lagoon. Their menu includes grilled shrimp, clam strips, burgers, and chicken wings. They often have live music, making it another place to be entertained and dined.

Sebastian Saltwater Marina Restaurant is another waterfront restaurant known for its fresh seafood. They are one of the few locations with a stunning view of the Sebastian Inlet Bridge. They have fresh seafood and steaks to fit everyone’s taste.

Boat Rentals

Get ready for a thrilling adventure with boat and jet ski rentals. At Captain Hirams Resort, you can rent a pontoon boat for a few hours or the whole day. For more details, call 772-589-5560.

Some can take you close to a special place called Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge. This was the very first National Wildlife Refuge in America. It’s just a small island in the Indian River Lagoon. Not only is Pelican Island itself special, but it’s also surrounded by over 5400 acres of water and land that are kept safe and protected.
