PRESENTING ATHENA

When launched, sailing yacht ATHENA was the world’s largest private sailing yacht.  Custom-built by Royal Huisman in 2004, the three-masted schooner was designed by Pieter Beeldsnijder, both interior and exterior, with naval architecture by Dykstra, and interior design by Rebecca Bradley.  This 90 meter work of art is still one of the largest private yacht charter sailing yachts on the market.

A classic schooner for modern times, Royal Huisman sail yacht ATHENA features a cinema, library, and numerous social areas for 12 charter guests.

Lightly-stained mahogany adorns the interiors of schooner ATHENA, enriching the air of classic comfort.  To avoid a feeling of overwhelming space, Beeldsnijder divided the social areas and accommodations into “human size” proportions.  The result is a yacht that feels welcoming and exudes old world charm. Soft furnishings and fabrics are used throughout the interior, further enhancing the warmth that recalls a golden age of sailing.

ACCOMMODATIONS

The schooner’s interior layout accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, including a master suite, 3 double cabins, and 1 twin cabin.

Multiple amenities exist for the guests’ comfort and wellness. For instance, air conditioning and a gymnasium.  In addition, WiFi for those desiring internet and mobile capabilities.

The spaciousness of the master extends to the marble-clad en suite, which also features a separate shower and head. Additional staterooms on the lower deck include 3 doubles, and 1 twin with 2 Pullman berths.

To welcome the legendary, top-quality, top-pedigree, and award-winning ATHENA yacht for sale, demonstrates the versatility of Merle Wood & Associates and our fleet of distinguished vessels. A classically designed interior by designer Rebecca Bradley reveals neutral-toned soft furnishings enveloped in rich, warm wood. Her main salon is configured for socializing, with two conversation areas marked by a coffee table and games table. Generous deck spaces allow for open or covered al fresco dining and lounging, as well as copious seating on which to enjoy the sail.

Created by the power team of yacht designers Pieter Beeldsnijer and Dystra Naval Architects, the ATHENA yacht for sale was commissioned by a knowledgeable and experienced yachtsman. With over 26,000 square feet (2,500sqm) of sail power, and a three-mast schooner rig designed by Rondal, the ATHENA yacht for sale features a crow’s nest for the most visceral views. $10.9M price drop on sailing superyacht Athena

The famed 90 metre sailing superyacht Athena, jointly listed for sale by Burgess and Merle Wood & Associates , has had a $10,900,000 price reduction.

One of the largest sailing yachts in the world , this  yacht for sale  has a pure Dutch pedigree, combining the talents of Pieter Beeldsnijder for exterior design with the naval architectural skills of Dykstra Naval Architects and the craftsmanship of the celebrated Royal Huisman yard.

Built in aluminium to Lloyd's class and MCA coded, Athena was delivered to much industry acclaim in 2004. She boasts superb engineering, state-of-the-art sail handling gear and interior joinery of the highest quality in lightly stained mahogany. Accommodation is for 12 guests in five cabins configured as a full-beam master suite, three doubles with queen size beds and a twin cabin with two Pullman berths, and all with en-suite bathroom facilities.

A regular at the world's top superyacht regattas, Athena is as fast as she is good looking. On deck 55 Rondal captive and drum winches allow lightning fast tacks under full sail while sails can be set and stowed at the press of a button or two. The tri-mast schooner rig by Rondal provides some 2,500 square metres of sail power and is complete with in-mast furling for the topsails and in boom furling for the carbon fibre gaffs.

Under power, twin 3516B Caterpillar engines give her a cruising range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Currently cruising in the Caribbean, Athena is now asking $59 million.
