Our yachts are built just for you and cared for entirely by us.  Hinckley owners know there is no better way to care for your yacht than by enrolling in YachtCare.  Having built the boats at our facility in Maine, nobody knows these boats better than we do.

The Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program recognizes Hinckley yachts regularly enrolled in YachtCare.  Certified Pre-Owned Hinckley yachts are impeccably maintained and tend to command a premium in the resale market.  This helps Hinckley owners protect their investment and resale value.  For buyers interested in brokerage yachts, the Hinckley CPO badge signifies a yacht kept to the highest standards with a warranty from Hinckley for the new owner.

In order for a Hinckley to qualify for CPO status, it must have been regularly serviced in the company’s ten yacht care centers through its YachtCare program.  The boat must be inspected and listed for sale with Hinckley Yacht Brokerage.  There is no program cost to the seller or  buyer of the certified pre-owned boat.

The warranties provided vary according to the age of the boat.

The Hinckley Company built its first boat in 1928 and that was the beginning of an unbroken line of vessels that would come to earn the admiration of many sailors and yachtsmen around the world. For the Hinckley Company pursing this course of boat building, each new boat that was built in their yard reached more and more of a nautical design. Today, their sailboats and motored boats always reflect on the question: “How can we make it stronger, faster and safer?” In the era when all boats were made with wooden hulls, even then were the Hinckley Company standing apart from the rest. They stood apart from the rest with the gracefulness that they had when in the water thanks to the downeast boat design. Everyone was able to pick out a Hinckley from other sailing and motor boats and those few who weren’t, were still able to appreciate the graceful shape and beautiful detailed work. During the 1950’s, Hinckley was the first to take on traditional oak frames and planking in favor of fiberglass. The hulls for Hinckley Yachts are designed by Michael Peters, a top naval architect. Hinckley Talaria 55

The Talaria 55 and is considered the Queen of her fleet. She was created for the demands of responsiveness, spacious layout and power. Also, there is an optional ice maker and electric grill. The galley below is an air conditioned cabin with a refrigerator, cappuccino maker, cooktop and microwave, all standardized sizes. There is also a U-shaped settee with seating to accommodate three. This settee also converts into a queen sized berth for overnight stays out at sea. HISTORY OF HINCKLEY YACHTS

Hinckley Yachts began in 1928 in Southwest Harbor, Maine, servicing local lobster boats and yachts owned by summer residents in Mt. Desert Island.  Five years later, founder Henry Hinckley built his first boat, a 36-foot beauty with lines that are still familiar today.

Hinckley’s focus on high standards soon had them designing and fabricating their own hardware, a testament to their desire to produce the highest quality boat possible. The graceful lines and glistening brightwork made these yachts distinctive and that tradition carries on today. While beautiful, these yachts have their foundation based solidly on function giving them strength, stability, and maneuverability in rough seas.

A pioneer in the use of fiberglass boat building, Hinckley began building boats with the material in the 1950s. Fiberglass enabled them to save weight and add strength. An added benefit was that it allowed the boats to retain their sweeping lines that people had come to know and love. Fast forward to 1994 and the same thinking allowed Hinckley to make the switch to using Kevlar and carbon fiber from stern to bow. Unique Hinckley features include JetStick 3, Heading Hold, and Dynamic Steering.

PRODUCTION AND TECHNOLOGY

As one of the first American builders to adopt SCRIMP (Seemann Composites Resin Infusion Molding Process) resin infusion, Hinckley remains a world leader. Additionally, they are the only builder using Carbon and Kevlar composite from bow to stern vacuum infused with epoxy and Hinckley is unique in guaranteeing their hulls and decks for life. This focus on materials and engineering applies to both their motor yachts and their sailing yachts.

Hinckley yachts are powered by water jets for efficiency and maneuverability. Jet propulsion provides unrivaled handling and is considered the best possible mechanical configuration for joystick applications. Hinckley uses jet propulsion, allowing their boats to operate in very shallow areas or water with excessive debris such as lobster pots due to their lack of appendages below the waterline.  Hinckley’s implementation of JetStick 3 brings military-grade GPS hardware and digital processing to their yachts.

Hinckley was founded in 1928 when Henry Hinckley began building small boats in Southwest Harbor, Maine. While Hinckley had built many powerboats over the years, the demand for sailboats wasso strong that the company focused on this market exclusively until the early 1990s. In 1993 Hinckley broadened its product line with the introduction of the trend-setting Hinckley 36 Picnic Boat, a Downeast-style day boat with waterjet propulsion. An innovative company, Hinckley introduced its own joystick control system years before the large engine manufacturers. Surviving company layoffs and production cut-backs caused by the Great Recession, Hinckley employment reached an all-time high in 2016. Hinckley recently launched its 1,000th jetboat—a company milestone.

Henry R. Hinckley envisioned the H49 Center Cockpit Ketch as an easily handled, comfortable, and capable cruiser with live aboard accommodations for his own family. The big beamy shoal draft cruiser has proven to be just that, whether cruising northern waters, the Bahamas, or world voyaging. 24 were built between 1971 -1976. Bluestar is a rare find who's owners have spared no expense towards her upkeep including several major refits and constant upgrades and attention. Sailed seasonally the past twenty years on the eastern coast of the US, Bluestar, is in excellent, turn-key, set-sail, condition and ready for her next adventure. The H49 Center Cockpit Ketch with a shoal 5'10" draft with the center board up and 10' draft with the board down provides a great deal of versatility for cruising the Great Lakes, Eastern Seaboard, Chesapeake Bay, South Florida and the Keys, the Bahamas, and beyond. The ketch design makes for an easy to manage sail plan while also keeping the mast height low enough for easy transit on the ICW. The H49's beam and full volume has the capacity for plenty of fuel, water, and stores to extend your cruising range and live aboard comfort. The fully enclosed center cockpit helm is a comfortable all weather space to operate from with good visibility and seating room for crew and guests. The aft cockpit also offers pleasant seating with ease of access from the master stateroom.   

Homeported in Morehead CIty, NC, Bluestar has spent most summer cruising in New England.  Owned by an experienced yachtsman who actually crewed aboard the boat in his twenties.  No expense has be spared maintaining Bluestar in bristol condition including the following major upgrades and service items over the past ten years:

Descending the companionway you will find a welcoming main salon finished with richly hand crafted joiner work in mahogany and highly finished teak and holly cabin sole all complimented by luxurious upholstery. There's an L-shaped settee to port with a large salon table and settee to starboard to accommodate all for dining and socializing both settees have pull-outs to form additional twin berths. Aft and to port is the well organized and appointed galley running in-line the full length of the passageway aft. To starboard is a dedicated and neatly organized navigation station equipped with fully updated Raymarine instrumentation and numerous drawers for charts and ship's papers. Just aft of the navigation station is a separate and well organized electrical and mechanical room for vessel maintenance and servicing. Moving forward is a spacious head to port. The forward stateroom has a double v-berth with numerous drawers and a large hanging locker. The forward bulkhead provides easy access to the anchor chain locker.  The aft master stateroom is easily accessed from the main salon via the port galley/passageway. You will find a comfortable stateroom with port and starboard double berths that will be secure sea berths when underway. The aft stateroom includes a private head with a fully enclosed shower. From the stateroom is easy access to the aft cockpit. Bluestar has a huge amount of storage in numerous, cabinets, drawers and hanging lockers for organized live aboard comfort. Last but certainly not least is the comfortable headroom you will find in all the cabin spaces.

The 36 EP Picnic Boat has proven to be a timeless daycruiser, second to none in terms of handling, performance and of course craftsmanship. From her climate controlled cockpit, with eisenglass enclosure across the back for the chillier (or warmer) days, to the open chaise and aft bench seat under the sun (unless you choose to utilize the custom sunshade of course) and the bench seat and table under the hardtop in the pilothouse, her layout offers numerous areas for entertaining, and the captain is right in the mix with amazing visibility all around.

Below, a galley with two burner stove, drop in fridge and small microwave, along with a V-berth and separate head offer all the necessities if one were to choose to spend a night or weekend aboard.

Engine access is made easy with a full lifting midsection, and complete jet drive and steering access is aft beneath the bench seat below two drop in storage bins. 

The deck is well laid out, the woodwork and joinery (interior and exterior) is exquisite, having just been fully varnished only months ago, and her profile is a recognizable symbol of luxury to all who see her.
