From EAST of Destin (Sandestin, Panama City) From Destin Commons (Bass Pro Shops), drive 4 miles on Hwy 98 West. We have onsite parking at our location. Upon arriving head to the ticket booth.

From WEST of Destin (Ft Walton Beach, Pensacola) Take Hwy 98 East to Destin over the Destin Bridge. 1/2 mile after the bridge, turn right into our parking lot.

CANCELLATION POLICY:   You must CALL at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled trip time to change, reschedule, or cancel your reservation . If you don’t call or don’t make your reservation time,  tickets will not be rescheduled or refunded. There will be a $10 cancellation fee.

We have a large paver parking lot, and excess parking at Boshamps Restaurant.

No, we have several flights of steps.

Yes, but it’s small, don’t plan on spending much time in it.

Does the cruise or boat tour go on the Gulf of Mexico?

Most of the time we are in the Gulf of Mexico sighting Dolphins and viewing the beautiful emerald waters, but sometimes the Gulf of Mexico is too rough so we take you back to the Choctawhatchee Bay and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.

How Long Are the Tours?

The Destin Dolphin Tours are an hour and a half, giving you enough time to soak in the views before the sun sets over the miles of beach along the coast.

We take our customers out on Coast Guard certified forty-five foot Catamaran’s, customized to be the perfect dolphin boats in Destin. What's so great about a catamaran? A catamaran denotes a boat with two hulls or compartments that enable the vessel to displace water evenly on both sides. This design allows the catamaran to avoid rocking, as a traditional, single-hulled sailboat does. For folks on vacation--this point is a gold nugget--those that are not accustomed to boats tend to get seasick.

Why the double-hull design is a vacationers best boat friend:

Stable, non-rocking design . Why is this important? Because as the hull heaves so may your stomach.

Plenty of storage space with 2 hulls . And, if the kids fight, we can separate them.

Speed. The catamaran is twice as fast as a traditional sailboat. Save the monohull for the land turtles! (Sea turtles are fast too.)

Here is a write-up of a much loved itinerary that

may save you from being one of the many people

who ride into the dock thinking, "I wish I had

longer on the sailboat!"

The sails are set due south from Captain Jambo's

peaceful, scenic bay dock. With tummies full of

butterflies and expectations, we sail through the

glowing, emerald waves, under the Destin Bridge,

through the Destin Pass, and East and West Jetties to the magnificent Gulf of Mexico. Here, we look for bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, and other marine life. We sail along Florida's beaches, marveling at the beauty of the water and sugar white beach. Next, the sails are set north, back through the Destin Pass to the world famous, Crab Island. This shallow, clear sandbar is a hot spot for Destin boaters' fun in the sun. Catch a margarita or some fish tacos at the festive Waterworld Restaurant and Bar. Play with the kids on the giant, inflatable waterpark. Just remember, no babysitting your pontoon boat, come and go as you please to check out the festivities, your captain will be happy to hold the anchor! After you've had your fill of Crab lsland, we sail to the nearby grassbeds for snorkeling. Crabs and fish abound here. You might even spot a majestic seahorse! You can purchase your drinks (alcohol packages available) and snacks when you arrive early for check in at The Edge Seafood Restaurant, or you can pack a small cooler to bring with you (Alcohol is allowed, no glass bottles, please.).  During the off-season, purchase a ticket on our dining and dolphins cruise for a fun tour that comes with a meal! Advance reservations are highly recommended, as our Destin sunset cruises do often sell out in advance. There is a minimum number of seats required to run.

My trip to Destin Florida was really good. We took sometime to do the dolphin cruise. It was so much fun spotting them. The cruise was very relaxing, and the captain made the trip really fun. Would definately recommend!

We scheduled this as a surprise for my best friend’s birthday. She loves dolphins, so I was really hoping we would actually see some. Jason was really fun and made it interesting. The water was a bit choppy, but that was fun too. We finally found a whole family of dolphins, with a baby and we had so much with them! It was a great time.

We always do this cruise whenever we come to Destin area. It's always a great time and I can't say enough about the staff. Super friendly and attentive. This trip we saw more dolphins than we have in years past. Fun for the whole family!

Our family of three enjoyed the cruise, Destin is beautiful when your on the boat you get to really see it’s water. We did see a couple dolphins and fed some of the birds. They have refreshments on board if you’d like to drink and captain hats that my son fell in love with. At the end they gave my son a small treasure. It’s a great way to end the evening watching the sunset on the cruise.

This was our 2nd dolphin cruise with Southern Star. Per usual it did not disappoint! The captain was super knowledgeable and told us all about the bay’s history as we toured the bay. He also knew exactly where to find the dolphins and made sure everyone got a good view! It was just fantastic!

This was my family's first dolphin sighting cruise and it did not disappoint. We had a charming captain and he made sure we learned the history of the area as well as saw dolphins, manta rays, all kinds of jelly fish, and sharks! The beautiful waters made it easy to see in and the size of the boat was perfect! Would recommend to anyone.

This was the highlight of our trip!! My 3 year old and I had a blast! The captain was on mission to find us some dolphins, and he found us 12-15 sharks too!! Such an amazing time. So glad we chose this tour!!

Join Captain Pam for a day trip aboard our new Trimaran, Nice Tri. All her day trips offer the ability to swim, snorkel, look for dolphins or watch the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico in Destin, Florida. You can also choose to visit Crab Island. The place Captain Pam likes to snorkel is called the Grass Flats. It is a shallow area where you can disembark the Sailing Trimaran and be waist-deep in water to hunt for treasures. While snorkeling, some things you may find include seashells, hermit crabs, fish, shrimp, and occasional seahorse. Captain Pam allows you to take a hermit crab of your choice to the boat for a race before releasing it.

Snorkeling Tours

Snorkeling Adventures are fun for all ages, but we have a special treat for the older kids and grownups with the conditions right to travel into the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Pam loves to bring you sand dollar hunting. We get sand dollars on the second sandbar, where you can dive from ten to fifteen feet. You can keep two sand dollars per person. Captain Pam suggests a four-hour cruise so you will have plenty of time to explore.

See The Dolphins

The Gulf of Mexico hosts some pretty friendly Aquatic Mammals, like the Tursiops Truncatus or Bottle Nose Dolphin. These happy mammals are some of our best friends, and they love meeting new people. We have thirty-five to fifty local dolphins who love to interact with sailboats and passengers, and we get to see them on seventy-five percent of our cruises. So when we are fortunate enough to interact with them, they will follow as we sail along.

Party on Crab Island

The cool thing about Crab Island is it isn't an island. It's a sandbar on the bayside of the Destin pass where locals and tourists alike come to anchor their boats, party, swim, or walk to one of the floating restaurant shacks to grab a drink or a bite to eat. You are welcome to bring your cooler with drinks and snacks, no glass, please. Crab Island is fun for all ages; it has ice cream boats, shore dash, and Reef Burgers, Captain Pam's favorite. People come worldwide to enjoy this incredible sandbar.
