Starting from just one coffee bean shop in Seattle, Starbucks is currently present across 77 countries with more than 30000 stores. Due to this behemoth business, Howard Schultz has accumulated a massive net worth of around $4 Billion . He bought the super luxury yacht Pi in 2019 for a staggering $145 Million.

Yachts might be tagged as extravagant, ground-breaking, or spectacular. Still, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz's $145 Million super yacht, Pi, the epitome of elegance and luxury, has also been given the title of ‘Auspicious.’

The Pi Yacht was built in 2019 by a Dutch shipyard known as Feadship. With a length of around 77.8 meters, Pi was the 22nd largest boat built by Feadship, as reported by Superyacht Times . She is a magnificent piece of art with an aluminum superstructure and steel hull. The Pi boasts a unique design created using state-of-the-art glass technology from a computer-aided 3D design.

She was formerly known as Syzygy 818, a lucky name per Chinese numerology. She bears the former owner's name, whose birthday is August 18. Consequently, the superyacht's official name also included the number. The second part of her name, Syzygy, is an astrological term that describes the rare occurrence when three celestial bodies line up precisely in the sky.

With extraordinary build quality , outstanding design, and innovation, the PI is on the verge of perfection. The yacht's stunning Zen-inspired interiors were built by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, and De Voogt Naval Architects looked after the naval design as per Yacht Bible . One of the best features of Pi is the placement of floor-to-ceiling windows without mullions, which realizes the owner's idea of the main saloon, which genuinely complements the exterior.

Her elegant and welcoming atmosphere is accentuated by ageless design, magnificent furniture, and comfortable seating. At the 2019 World Superyacht Honors, Pi won awards for Motor Yacht of the Year and Best Displacement Motor Yacht Between 1,500GT and 1,999GT, according to Luxury launches . The finishing touch that provided Howard Schultz with a winner to sail was the flawless construction quality of the Feadship.

The yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in 16 opulent guest rooms with a staff of 18 people. She has a luxurious spa and a pool with a glass bottom, among other features. The comfortable and stylish Pi features several distinctive features, including a spectacular spiral staircase connecting three floors and a large sitting area with a sofa accommodating eight people. She also boasts of a helipad and a garage.

With a length of 77.8 meters and a width of 11 meters, Pi is the 195th largest yacht in the world, as per News Rebeat . An aluminum superstructure supports the Pi's teak decks and steel hull, and she weighs around 1,592 tons. She comfortably sails at 16 knots and can attain a top speed of 18 knots thanks to dual diesel MTU 16-cylinder 2,700hp engines operating at 1800rpm. At-anchor stabilizers on Pi offer outstanding levels of comfort. Her freshwater tanks have a capacity of about 33,168 liters. She was constructed under the standards of the Lloyds Register classification society.

The vessel's external lines stand out for their inventive use of structural glass with a twofold curvature. The ship, which Jarko Jammsen created as his first superyacht project, has four decks ideally suited for guests' relaxation and entertainment. The big main deck aft can be set up for a casual setting, outdoor dining, or a lot of sunbathing. Additionally, a large upper deck behind the ship connects to the flush foredeck through side walkways. The best location on board for viewing the surroundings is the sundeck above.

Howard Schultz has got himself a yacht as exquisite as his coffee beans. He has transformed Starbucks and his life sailing in style with his $145 Million Pi. With her classy interiors, flamboyant exterior, and state-of-the-art technology, Pi is certainly a game-changer in the category of luxury Yachts.

By Katia Damborsky   11 December 2019

Delivered earlier this year, the 77m/ 254ft Feadship superyacht Syzygy 818 has been renamed PI .

The news comes just months after the yacht made her inaugural appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show . The reason for the name change is currently unknown.

PI made waves when Feadship live-streamed her launch in June, and she has since been shrouded in secrecy.

Her double-curved exteriors are the work of Jarkko Jamsen of Aivan Yacht Design, while her Japanese-inspired interiors have been helmed by Sinot. Naval architecture comes from De Voogt.

Accommodation is provided for a total of 12 guests and 18 members of crew.

The motor yacht has a host of impressive amenities, including a glass-bottomed pool and backlit onyx spa facilities.

Her double-curved exteriors are the work of Jarkko Jamsen of Aivan Yacht Design, while her Japanese-inspired interiors have been helmed by Sinot.

Her beach club is flooded with light from the pool above, and benefits from twin sea terraces.

Her former name is an astrological term referring to the precise alignment of the sun, moon or stars which creates phenomena such as the lunar eclipse. 818 is the former project name of the yacht and is a prosperous number in Chinese numerology.

Table of Contents

Short Answer

Superyacht PI is a luxury yacht owned by Russian businessman Roman Abramovich.

It was built in 2014 by Lurssen Yachts and is currently located in the Mediterranean Sea.

The yacht is the 11th largest superyacht in the world and is estimated to be worth around $400 million.

Background of the Superyacht Pi and its Owner

The luxurious superyacht Pi has been the subject of much speculation since it first hit the waves in 2019.

The vessel belongs to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, a man known for his immense wealth and penchant for luxury goods.

Reportedly measuring in at 162.5m, Pi is one of the largest private yachts in the world and is said to have been valued at a staggering $400 million.

The vessel is rumored to have been built by Lurssen, a German shipbuilding company that specializes in luxury sailing vessels.

Not much is known about the vessels design or its interior, though sources indicate it features an infinity pool, a spa, and a helipad.

Pictures of the vessel have been scarce, as Abramovich has reportedly kept it out of the public eye.

Abramovich himself is no stranger to luxury yachts.

He has a long history of owning and sailing high-end vessels, both large and small.

In addition to Pi, Abramovich also owns the worlds largest sailing yacht, the Eclipse, which measures in at a staggering 162.5m.

The disappearance of the superyacht Pi has sparked much curiosity among luxury yacht aficionados and wealthy boat owners around the world.

Its location remains a mystery, with rumors of it being stationed in the Mediterranean or spotted in the Caribbean.

Speculation is rampant, and the search for the vessel has become an almost obsessive mission.

The Disappearance of the Superyacht Pi

superyacht pi owner

The mysterious disappearance of the superyacht Pi has been a source of intrigue amongst the global superyacht community since it vanished without a trace in August 2019.

Belonging to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the 162.5m luxury vessel is one of the largest private yachts in the world, estimated to be valued at $400 million.

The speculation about the whereabouts of Pi range from being stationed in the Mediterranean to being spotted in the Caribbean.

However, the true location of the superyacht remains a mystery.

Reports suggest that the yacht was last seen in the Bahamas, being boarded by armed guards.

Rumors are also circulating that the vessel was moved to an unknown location by Abramovichs security team, due to concerns for the billionaires safety.

The disappearance of Pi has caused a stir in the yachting industry, as the vessel was renowned for its luxurious amenities and impressive features.

The yacht reportedly had a pool, a spa, a gym, a movie theater, and an array of rooms, suites, and cabins that could accommodate up to 36 guests.

The disappearance of Pi remains a mystery, and it is unclear why the vessel has gone missing and where it is currently located.

The search for the superyacht continues, and only time will tell when and where Pi will be found.

Possible Locations of the Superyacht Pi

The mysterious disappearance of the superyacht Pi has left many people wondering where it could have gone.

The vessel belongs to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich and has been missing since August 2019.

Despite numerous attempts to locate the vessel, its whereabouts remain unknown.

Speculation of the superyacht’s possible location has been all over the place, ranging from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean.

With its reported length of 162.5m, Pi is one of the largest private yachts in the world and is said to have been valued at a staggering $400 million.

This has only added fuel to the fire as people are ever more eager to find out the truth of the vessel’s whereabouts.

The Mediterranean has been suggested as a possible location for the superyacht Pi due to its proximity to other renowned luxury destinations such as Monaco and Ibiza.

This would make sense considering that Abramovich is known to be a frequent visitor to the area.

However, there has been no concrete evidence of the vessel in this region.

Another suggestion is that the superyacht may have been spotted in the Caribbean.

This would not be an entirely surprising development, as the Caribbean is well known for its luxury yachts and its attractive scenery.

However, again, there is no definitive proof that the vessel has been in this area.

It is also possible that the superyacht Pi is still in its home port of Monaco.

This would make sense as Monaco is a popular destination for luxury yachts and is close to other locations that Abramovich is known to frequent.

It is also possible that the vessel is on a long voyage and has yet to reach its destination.

Finally, it is possible that the whereabouts of the superyacht Pi are simply unknown.

Despite the speculation, no one knows for sure where the vessel is located.

It is entirely possible that the vessel is still in the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, or even that it is on a long voyage.

Until further evidence is found, the whereabouts of the superyacht remain a mystery.

The Luxury Features of the Superyacht Pi

superyacht pi owner

The Superyacht PI is a luxurious vessel that belongs to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

It is said to have been valued at a staggering $400 million and is one of the largest private yachts in the world, measuring in at 162.5m.

It has been missing since August 2019 and it remains unclear why it has gone missing and where it is currently located.

The Superyacht PI is packed full of luxurious features and amenities that make it one of the most desirable yachts in the world.

It features a dedicated spa, a swimming pool, a cinema, a helicopter landing pad, and a fully-equipped gym.

The interior is outfitted with the finest materials, such as marble, leather, and crystal.

There is a Jacuzzi on the upper deck, a sky lounge, and a private office for the owner.

The yacht also features a variety of water toys, including jet skis and wave runners.

The Superyacht PI is designed for entertaining, with two outdoor bars, a cigar lounge, and a large dance floor.

It also boasts a large sundeck with lounge chairs and a hot tub.

The yacht is equipped with the latest navigation equipment and the latest in audio-visual systems.

It has a crew of 22 and can accommodate up to 36 guests.

The Superyacht PI is a luxurious vessel that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.

Its unique design and luxurious amenities make it a favorite among celebrities and high-end travelers.

Despite its mysterious disappearance, the Superyacht PI remains one of the most desirable yachts in the world.

The Cost of Operating the Superyacht Pi

The cost of operating the superyacht Pi is likely to be astronomical.

Reportedly, the vessel is 162.5m long and valued at around $400 million, making it one of the largest and most expensive private yachts in the world.

It is also said to be equipped with a helipad, swimming pool, and other luxurious amenities.

Operating such a large and expensive vessel is not going to come cheap.

The cost of fuel alone is likely to be significant.

With its reported length of 162.5m, Pi is almost certainly powered by diesel engines, which require large amounts of fuel to maintain.

The cost of fuel is likely to be even higher if the vessel is travelling long distances, such as from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean.

In addition to fuel, the cost of maintenance and repairs must also be taken into account.

The engines, electrical systems, and other components of a superyacht require regular maintenance and repairs, and these can be expensive.

Furthermore, the cost of personnel to operate the vessel must also be taken into account.

A large crew is likely to be needed to keep the vessel running, and wages and other associated costs must be factored into the cost of operating the vessel.

Finally, the cost of insurance must be taken into account.

Insuring a vessel of this size and value is likely to be very expensive, and the cost of premiums must be factored into the overall cost of operating the vessel.

In summary, the cost of operating the superyacht Pi is likely to be very high.

With its large size and luxurious amenities, the vessel is likely to require significant amounts of fuel, maintenance and repairs, personnel, and insurance.

All of these costs must be taken into account when considering the cost of operating this luxurious vessel.

The Possibilities of the Superyacht Pis Whereabouts

superyacht pi owner

The mystery of the Superyacht Pi and its whereabouts has been the talk of the yacht world since August 2019.

Speculation of the vessels whereabouts range from it being stationed in the Mediterranean to it being spotted in the Caribbean.

But with the vessel being one of the largest private yachts in the world and valued at around $400 million, what would motivate a billionaire like Roman Abramovich to keep such a vessel hidden from the public?

One possibility may be that Abramovich is trying to keep the yacht out of sight as he has intentions of making major modifications to it.

Such modifications would require the vessel to be out of public view for a significant period of time.

This could explain why the yacht has gone missing for so long and why it is still a mystery as to its current location.

Another possibility is that the yacht is being used for more personal reasons.

It could be that Abramovich has taken the yacht to a private location to entertain family and friends away from the public eye.

This would explain why the vessel has been missing for so long and why its exact whereabouts are still unknown.

Finally, it could be that the yacht is being used for business purposes.

Perhaps Abramovich is using the yacht to conduct private meetings and negotiations with business partners and associates.

This would explain why the vessel has been missing for so long and why its exact whereabouts remain a mystery.

Whatever the reason may be, one thing is certain: the mystery of the Superyacht Pi and its whereabouts will continue to be the talk of the yacht world until it is found. Until then, all we can do is speculate about its whereabouts and why it has gone missing.

The Hunt for the Superyacht Pi

The mystery behind the whereabouts of the superyacht Pi has been making headlines since it first went missing in August 2019.

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is the proud owner of this luxurious vessel, which is said to be one of the largest private yachts in the world at 162.5m in length and estimated to be worth an eye-watering $400 million dollars.

Since its disappearance, speculation around the vessels location has been rife, with sightings reported from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean.

It has been suggested that the yacht was last seen in Monaco in July 2019, before it vanished without a trace.

The search for the superyacht has been an ongoing mission, with various individuals and organizations attempting to locate the vessel.

The United States Coast Guard has been actively searching for the yacht since its disappearance, although they have yet to be successful in their mission.

Other groups such as the International Maritime Bureau have also been involved in the search, yet their efforts have also been to no avail.

The mystery surrounding the yachts disappearance has captivated the attention of many, with people across the world speculating on the whereabouts of the vessel.

Some believe that the yacht has been intentionally hidden away, while others suggest that it may have been destroyed or damaged in an accident.

The truth is that nobody knows for sure where the superyacht Pi is located, and no one is quite sure why it is missing.

Until the vessel is found, the search for the elusive superyacht is certain to continue.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT HER PREVIOUS NAME SYZYGY 818

The number 8 is considered lucky in Chinese numerology and as such, the project number '818' was considered especially lucky. Added to the fact that the Owner's birthday is on August the 18th and the number was added to the superyacht's official name. The other half of her name, 'Syzygy', is a term in astrology for the rare event when three heavenly bodies line up perfectly in the heavens, in such events as a lunar eclipse or new moon.

As a pure custom luxury yacht, PI has been personalised for her Owner and has top-of-the-line glass technology to create the curvaceous superstructure from the computerised 3D design. The Owner also had sustainability goals that needed to be met, and to reach these the electronics and engineering had to provide excellent fuel efficiency.

From the lower deck swim platform guests have access to the stern interior as well as the main deck aft. In addition to the spacious main deck aft, which can be laid out for casual lounging or alfresco dining, there is a spacious upper deck aft with side walk ways that connect around to the flush foredeck. The sundeck above has the best views on board for observation of the surroundings.

Luxury yacht owned by Starbucks billionaire appears off Devon coast

superyacht pi owner

A luxury yacht owned by a Starbucks coffee billionaire turned heads in Torbay after mooring off the Devon coast.

The 77-metre long vessel, which is worth an estimated  £118million, appeared in the bay at the weekend.

It belongs to the owner of Starbucks Howard Schultz, an American businessman who bought the coffee chain in the 1980s.

He is ranked by Forbes as the 209th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $4.3billion.

The yacht, meanwhile, can accommodate up to 12 guests and 18 crews and boasts its own helicopter pad, glass-bottomed swimming pool and onboard spa facilities.

It is called Pi and was built in the Netherlands in 2019.

It anchored among the ever-changing backdrop of stranded cruise ships in the bay, which has been nicknamed “the Torbay car park” during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pi has since left the bay, and online shipping websites suggest it has since crossed the English Channel and is heading south off Lisbon in Portugal.

Among the eyewitnesses was Mike Wilkie, who posted an image of the yacht on social media with the caption: “If you ever wondered what really happened to Darth Vader, well he’s on board this yacht that arrived here today.”

His caption was a reference to the large, Darth Vader-shaped scanners and equipment on top of the vessel.

Feadship’s 77.25m Pi has been sold to an unnamed client. The 77.3m vessel, formerly called Syzygy 818 prior to the point of sale, was delivered by the Dutch yard this summer to great acclaim, and was among the stars of this year’s Monaco Yacht Show.

While details of the sale have yet to be confirmed, SuperyachtNews is aware that the price is in line with The Superyacht Agency’s proprietary brokerage sales price modelling tool , which currently values Pi at €134.9 million ± €5 million.

As is apparent from our model, Pi represents the third most valuable superyacht in the delivered Feadship fleet behind 101.5m Symphony (€129.8 million) and 110.0m Anna (€177.9 million).

The vessel, whose exterior lines are noteworthy for their extraordinary use of double curvature structural glass, was designed by Jarko Jammsen, representing his inaugural superyacht project. The interiors are the work of Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design, with naval architecture from De Voogt Naval Architects.

The seller is a client of KK Superyachts, the company that oversaw the management of the project and its delivery.

Feadship has three deliveries scheduled for 2020 at an average LOA of 77.7m.

Pi – The ultimate superyacht

superyacht pi owner

Jarkko Jämsén, co-founder of Aivan, was invited to create the concept, interior layout and exterior design for a superyacht. In close collaboration with the owner client, he and the other team members created a totally unique vessel from scratch that is custom-made down to every detail.

Pi – originally Syzygy 818 – is a 77.25m motor yacht. The vessel’s top speed is 18.4kn and is powered by two MTU diesel engines. Pi can accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms, with 18 crew members. Pi has a gross tonnage of 1592.0GT and a 11.0m beam. The interior of the yacht was designed by Sinot.

Pi was built at Feadship – Royal Dutch Shipyards in the Netherlands. Feadship is a cooperative venture between two shipyards Royal Van Lent Shipyard and Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw. Feadship designs and constructs high-end luxury yachts and is one of the leading builders of custom superyachts.

California yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker in vicious showdown, cali yacht owner threatens to kill dock worker drops pants for rude salute, 95 3/13/2024 8:09 am pt.

A California yacht owner's vicious beef with a dock worker has reached death-threat levels -- and their exchange was caught on camera and included a nude, and very rude, gesture!

Check out the clip ... it all unfolds when San Diego entrepreneur Ajay Thakore swings by the swanky Marriott Marquis Marina in his rare $4.5M Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht to pick up one of his employees -- but things boil over when dock worker Joseph Holt tells him he can't be there.

Thakore, the CEO of medical advertising firm Doctor Multimedia, flips out on Holt big time ... and starts spewing threats like, "I will kill you, you know I will kill you, I will kill."

And it doesn't stop there -- as Thakore's pulling out of the harbor, he drops trou to make a full frontal salute in Holt's direction. Stay classy, San Diego!

Holt's only retaliation was flipping the bird, and he later told CBS8 that was all he could do to keep his cool and avoid escalating the situation.

Holt says parts of the altercation were not captured on camera, and he adds ... Thakore not only threatened to kill him, but also claimed to have connections who could totally mess up his life.

Holt also says Thakore pulled out $100 bills and tossed them at him, even chucking some in the water.

BTW, Thakore's done some backpedaling since the ugly exchange -- he now says, "The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange."

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

FWIW ... One of Thakore’s employees claims the whole thing began because other dock workers blocked him from boarding the yacht.

Oh, and if that fancy Lambo yacht looks familiar -- it's the same one Chuck Liddell recently tumbled off just last month. Now it's famous AND infamous!

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

  • The 118-meter superyacht Launchpad made her maiden voyage last week.
  • The yacht world is speculating that her owner is Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

In the world of superyachts , privacy is the most valuable asset. It can be next to impossible to discern the details of a superyacht transaction — and that's particularly true if the vessel in question is worth nine figures.

Yet some in the boat blogging world are speculating that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is the new owner of Launchpad, a megayacht currently moored in Fort Lauderdale, Florida after she made her maiden voyage from Gibraltar to St Maarten last week. Launchpad clocks in at 118 meters long, about nine meters shorter than Jeff Bezos' superyacht Koru .

The superyacht world is speculating that Mark Zuckerberg just bought this 118-meter boat

"It is Feadship's standard policy to never divulge any information about our yachts with reference to ownership, costs, or delivery, etc," Feadship, the ship's builder, wrote to BI. "Whether it is an 18-meter Feadship from the 1960s or a 118-meter Feadship from the 21st century, we do not share private information."

But Zuckerberg's name has been connected to Launchpad for a few months now, beginning in December when reports swirled that he visited Feadship's shipyard in the Netherlands.

Then, earlier in March, yachting bloggers like eSysman SuperYachts and Autoevolution started speculating that he officially snagged the boat, originally built for a sanctioned Russian businessman, at a $300 million price tag. (While that's a seemingly huge amount, it's still less than 0.2% of Zuckerberg's $177 billion net worth.)

Another clue that might point to US ownership is that the yacht bears the flag of the Marshall Islands, a US territory and commonplace for American buyers to register their ships, according to public marine tracking.

If Zuckerberg were to have bought Launchpad, he would join a cohort of superyacht-owning tech billionaires . Along with Bezos, the likes of Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have purchased impressive boats with even more impressive amenities.

SuperYacht Times , an industry publication and intelligence platform, has some of the best images of the yacht. Photos show a swimming pool on her main deck and a large helipad.

While less is known of the interior, a vessel of her size can likely sleep dozens of guests and crew and may have amenities like an expansive gym where Zuckerberg could practice his jiu-jitsu or a spa with a massage area. We suspect there's also space for plenty of toys — which could include his viral hydrofoil foil .

Who is Ajay Thakore? San Diego Lamborghini Yacht owner threatens dock worker in viral video

A n Indian-origin California business owner Ajay Thakore recently made headlines when he reportedly threatened a dockyard worker at San Diego's Marriott Marina after the latter refused to let the former park his $4.5 million Lamborghini Yacht, as per Times Now News.

The video of the incident has now gone viral online. While the face of the man threatening the dock employee saying "I will kill you!" multiple times remains unclear in the footage, many media outlets, including the New York Post confirmed it was Ajay Thakore, who has previously been part of similar confrontations.

Apart from threatening to kill the dock worker, the man in the video also flashed at the latter, as the yacht moved away from the marina. In the wake of this incident, here's looking at who Ajay Thakore is.

Ajay Thakore also goes by the name Ace Rogers

According to Daily Mail, Ajay Thakore also goes by the name Ace Rogers and he is a wealthy businessman and philanthropist based in San Diego, California. He is the CEO of Doctor Multimedia, a local medical marketing agency, and Gopher Media LLC.

He has previously faced similar controversy in 2021 when he was accused of harassing the employees of a La Jolla pizza joint called American Pizza Manufacturing. Its founder Andrew Melone alleged back then that it all started with Thakore defaming the take-and-bake pizza establishment on social media.

However, things escalated when the Indian-origin business owner reportedly parked two of his cars directly in front of the eatery, blocking its entrance, with texts, "Take N Bake Pizza Sucks" glaring on top of it.

Melone also claimed that an airplane flew over the locality with the banner reading, "Just Say No to Take N Bake Pizza." Not only that but Ajay Thakore reportedly involved another pizzeria in the area Carino's, with planes displaying messages like "Carino's Pizza is Better than Take N Bake."

Additionally, Thakore and his companies filed a $10 million lawsuit against Andrew Melone and his public accusations, claiming that they were "exercising their First Amendment Rights" and protesting against discrimination. The owner of the pizzeria countersued, alleging Thakore had persistently harassed him and his company. The two civil lawsuits are still underway.

Exploring the recent controversy surrounding Ajay Thakore

On the afternoon of March 10, 2024, Ajay Thakore's multimillion-dollar Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht was not allowed to park in the Seaforth Boat Rental lot in San Diego's Marriott Marina. He was reportedly there to pick up an employee. The video of the incident has now gone viral.

It shows a man standing on the edge of the yacht threatening to "kill" the worker identified as Joseph Holt, as per CBS 8. Later, as the boat moved away from the dock, the former dropped his pants and made inappropriate gestures toward the 21-year-old employee. The harasser even threw $100 bills at the guy which fell into the water.

Holt told reporters that he "respectfully" told the driver not to park in the private space and was hoping to have a "conversation" with him about his "cool boat," when "it completely went the other way."

"I really didn't know how to process it. I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird," Holt stated.

The employee also mentioned how Thakore berated him for his minimum wage labor and called him a nobody who did nothing on a "silly job." The expensive boat owner allegedly threatened to have him fired using his "connections" and ruin his life.

The dock worker further continued,

"He had dropped his pants and started to make gestures to everybody watching and me. You can't act that way in public. It's just not okay. Especially threatening my life, at the very least. There were women and children there. That's the most important part."

In contrast, Ajay Thakore's public relations team told CBS 8 that the "interaction" was "regrettable."

"What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange," the statement added.

Later, Ajay Thakore's employee Jason, whom the former was supposed to pick up during the fiasco, also issued a clarification via his boss' Instagram (@acerogersceo). He said that he was not allowed to get aboard, and was asked to "stand back" and even "forearmed" which is when Thakore allegedly "flipped" as he was protective of him, his fiancé, and his other employees, tagging it as a long-drawn misunderstanding.

In the caption of the post, it was Ajay Thakore who seemed to issue a statement:

"As a leader, I defend my own fiercely with everything I have, and I will never apologize for that. You can choose to believe that I just pulled up to the dock and started yelling, or you can realize that a lot happened before the cameras were rolling and that it takes two sides to escalate a situation."

Notably, in the aftermath of the incident, Port of San Diego Harbor Police were called in, who arrived 10 minutes after Ajay Thakore's boat left the marina. Joseph Holt told the news outlet that the officers didn't take his complaints seriously and were even laughing at him.

The department responded by telling CBS 8 that they were called in to deal with a "possible intoxicated vessel operator" who had departed the area before they got there and that they were unable to do anything with. The statement went on to say that a report had been made and that the police had spoken with the complainant and witnesses.

Indian navy captures ship from Somali pirates, rescuing 17 crew members

Navy captures MV Ruen off the Indian coast, ending the three-month hijacking of the Maltese-flagged bulk carrier.

The Maltese-flagged bulk cargo vessel Ruen

Indian naval forces including special commandos have seized a cargo vessel that had been hijacked by Somali pirates and rescued 17 crew members, a spokesperson for the navy said.

In a post on the social media platform X on Saturday, the navy said that all 35 pirates on board the Maltese-flagged bulk cargo vessel MV Ruen had surrendered, and the ship had been checked for the presence of illegal arms, ammunition and contraband.

Pirates, emperors and the middle east axes of evil, us says somali pirates likely behind attempted tanker seizure near yemen, pirates seize control of cargo ship near somalia, say owners.

The MV Ruen was hijacked late last year and the navy said it first intercepted the vessel on Friday.

“The pirates onboard the vessel have been called upon to surrender and release the vessel and any civilians they may be holding against their will,” the navy said in a statement.

“The Indian navy remains committed to maritime security and safety of seafarers in the region,” it added.

The vessel may have been used as the base for the takeover of a Bangladesh-flagged cargo ship off the coast of Somalia earlier this week, the European Union naval force said.

The hijacking of the Ruen in December was the first successful takeover of a vessel involving Somali pirates since 2017 when a crackdown by international navies stopped a rash of seizures in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.

Somali pirates have caused chaos in important global waterways for a decade, but had been dormant until a resurgence of attacks starting late last year.

India has deployed at least a dozen warships east of the Red Sea to provide security against pirates as Western powers focus on attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis.

The subcontinent’s navy has also increased its surveillance of the Arabian Sea after a recent spate of attacks in the region.

In January, the navy rescued all crew members from a Liberian-flagged merchant vessel after its attempted hijack in the Arabian Sea.

At least 17 incidents of hijacking, attempted hijacking and suspicious approaches have been recorded by the Indian navy since December 1.

Data from the Indian navy’s Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region shows at least three hijackings in December.
