Launch of 72-meter yacht CRN 139 in Ancona

The Italian builder's latest 72m (236ft) full-custom CRN 139 has been christened motor yacht NJOY in a private ceremony held on Monday, before hitting the water for the first time from their Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona, Italy .

Although details of the bespoke steel and aluminum motor yacht remain tightly under wraps, in their latest press release it was confirmed the yacht has been designed and built by CRN , who were also responsible for her naval architecture, while Nuvolari Lenard designed her interiors, in collaboration with the Italian yard. 

The 1,880 GT yacht boasts a wide 12.4-meter beam, so we can expect plenty of generous interior and alfresco living areas spanning across her 6 decks.

Designed to reflect and enhance her owners’ vision, personality and style, the yacht is endowed with large full-length glazing to maximize the light, and has been described as having “smooth external lines that impart an original, elegant aesthetic”, while overall the yacht “combines functional and design solutions in a sophisticated overall harmony”.

She will provide accommodation for 12 guests, with additional space for up to 19 crew to ensure a seamless and professional experience at all times.

CRN have confirmed a further three full-custom yachts are currently under construction, comprising the 67-meter CRN M/Y 143, the 85-meter CRN M/Y 144 and the 70-meter CRN M/Y 145.

First founded in Ancona, Italy in 1963, CRN eventually became part of the Ferretti Group in 1999 – and since then, it has become regarded in the yacht world for manufacturing and selling some of the best, fully customized 40- to 90-meter long steel and aluminum mega yachts.

Originally named Costruzioni e Riparazioni Navali by entrepreneur Sanzio Nicolini, its first founder, the name was later shortened to its acronym, CRN. Its shipyard is nearly 80,000 square meters in size, making it capable of housing megayachts of up to 90 meters in length.

With more than 50 years of history in its back pocket, CRN has become one of the largest yacht manufacturing companies in the European market. Its shipyard has a large private marina; three large docks of 100, 100 and 40 meters, respectively; and a port that opens up onto the Adriatic sea.

Inspired by passion, innovation and client preferences, the brand prides itself on building each ship with the highest levels of Italian design, grace and construction. CRN Yachts – Operating Since 1963

CRN specialized in designing and building custom 45m aluminum and steel/aluminum plus yachts. The bespoke ship maker was founded in Ancona, Italy, and has created yachts peerless in beauty since 1963.

CRN History

From its foundation in 1963, CRN has garnered a reputation for building large luxury yachts. Sanzio Nicolini founded the company with the idea to create bespoke high-end yachts for a select and demanding clientele.

The year 1986 saw the launch of the CRN’s first 61m yacht, which was closely followed by the 65m models in 1999.

At the end of the 20th century, CRN partnered with the Ferretti Group, which introduced composite materials for the first time.

Ferretti is an Italian multi-national shipbuilding company that designs, constructs, and sells luxury motor yachts worldwide. CRN also expanded its production space, allowing them to produce 15 mega yachts every year. 

The launch of the 72m AZTECA from CRN broke all of their previous LOA records, and the 80m CHOPI CHOPI did so again in 2013. CHOPI CHOPI was a major achievement for CRN as it was their 200th launch. 

CRN creates yachts that are individual masterpieces, each uniquely representing the owner’s needs and wants with creativity and flair.

The shipyard prides itself on embracing the creative process, combining flexibility and creativity to achieve the most stunning luxury yachts. 

CRN owns one of the biggest construction yards in Ancona, boasting an impressive 80000+ sqm. CRN acquired the shipyard Mario Morini, a world-renowned boat builder in the adjacent yard next to CRN’s own.

This acquisition increased their yard and areas of expertise as Mario Morini was experienced in steel construction, perfectly matching CRN’s needs. The yard remains one of the largest in Europe.

There are 14 moorings for 24m to 100m yachts and have dedicated sheds with cutting edge equipment for construction and refitting. These state-of-the-art construction facilities enable them to produce the highest quality yachts around.

The Ferretti Group now commandeers the historic CRN shipyard. The shipyard has become a center of excellence for the design and construction of steel and aluminum superyachts.

Brands constructed in this center of excellence include River and Pershing yachts from the Custom Line brand. These brands are all icons of craftsmanship, design, and advanced technology.

CRN is also a member of the SYBAss (Superyacht Builders Association), a coveted title in the yacht-building industry.

Lamberto Tacoli has headed the company for over 13 years. He is counted amongst the most respected figures in the luxury nautical industry today. 

CRN NOTABLE YACHTS

CRN has more than 400 vessels in the water, including military and commercial vessels. The shipyard has produced several notable yachts.

YALLA  is a 73m award-winning Superyacht delivered to her owner, Naquib Sawiris, in 2014. Naquib Sawiris is one of the most wealthy individuals in Egypt.

CHOPI CHOPI  was built in 2013 and spans 80m. She was a custom build from CRN for owner Taha Mikati. She was another example of CRN’s ability to transform an owner’s ideas and creativity into reality.

CRN Ancona and the Owners have chosen Zuccon International Project for the sleek and timeless and ground-braking exterior design while Winch Design for her interiors, where the designers were able to create a sophisticated yet relaxed and inviting atmosphere. White and cream coloured theme with highlights of blues present the yacht in a true nautical style.

Some of the most important features of this exceptional 74m CRN include the spa area with a hair saloon and massage area, boasting a fold out balcony. The fully-equipped gymnasium with spinning bikes, rowing machine, treadmill and kinesis machine, will please those wishing to stay fit all year round, while the beach club equipped with an Espresso bar offers plenty of entertainment possibilities for all ages and tastes: you can either just relax here with a cocktail in hand, dip your feet into the water or fully immerse yourself into the endless fun trying out the extensive selection of water toys found aboard.

The main deck also features the very popular pool with spa jets, while a more relaxing Jacuzzi has been placed on the sun deck, surrounded by sun loungers with a teppanyaki bar and al fresco dining possibility further aft.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

There are eight cabins on board, including six doubles with king sized beds and two convertibles, providing overnight accommodation for up to twelve guests. The owner’s deck features the master suite with a large king-sized bed, his and hers bathrooms as well as a spacious dressing room. Forward there is a private deck area completely to the Owner’s disposal. The upper deck is the home to a VIP cabin with a king-sized bed and an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The main feature of this stateroom are the doors that open up to enjoy a fresh breeze. Further down, on the main deck we have the remainder of the guest cabins. There are four king-bedded staterooms, two of which are convertible from twins to doubles and vice versa. All cabins are fitted with en suite bathrooms with a bath and shower.

Water toys, tenders and other equipment include one 31ft Novurania tender, one Master Craft X20 competition ski boat, one Mini catamaran, 420 Evoque, one 2017 Yamaha Superjet waverunner, one 2017 Yamaha VX Cruiser HO waverunners, two ocean kayaks (2 man), X-Jetpack Flyboard Pro series and jet pack, two Seabobs F5 S, three 10'6" paddle boards, two Peddle boards, an inflatable stern set up including jetski & Seabob docks & jellyfish net, a 14m waterslide from the sundeck, a drone, Wakeskate, wakesurfer, 3 x wakeboard, 5 x waterskis, 3 x kneeboards, 2 x skimboards, 6 x bodyboards, air chair & tows. There is also a snorkelling equipment and Fishing equipment on board. To explore the port, seaside villages and towns the 74m CRN also carries four 18" Montague paratrooper express folding bikes.
