Chica Locca tours PV

BEST CATAMARAN TOUR PUERTO VALLARTA

Don’t have time to read ahead? This tour to Yelapa is the best Catamaran tour to book for a fun day at sea.

Table of Contents

Chica Locca Catamaran Tours Puerto Vallarta

My top recommendation goes to Chica Locca. Yes, that means “crazy girl,” and you might get a little crazy on their super fun catamaran tours in Puerto Vallarta.

They have several different options to choose from, from jumping on a tour to renting an entire catamaran with a big group. That’s what we did for a joint birthday boat bash, and it was one of the most fun days ever.

Here are some of the best tours that Chica Locca offers:

Puerto Vallarta catamaran tours

#1. Yelapa Catamaran Tour

Their newest offering is an all-inclusive boat tour to Yelapa on the Limousine of the Sea. This massive catamaran measures 100 x 40 feet, ensuring smooth sailing all the way down to Yelapa.

It’s a full-day tour that includes a continental breakfast, snacks like guacamole & chips, and a big taco lunch.

You’ll never be thirsty on this boat, as it also includes all the soft drinks, coffee, beer, wine, or margaritas you want. Salud!

On the way down to Yelapa, you’ll make a stop for some excellent snorkeling. They also have kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, splash nets, and more that you can use. There’s never a dull moment on this awesome Puerto Vallarta catamaran tour.

Once in the fishing village of Yelapa , you have the option to take a short hike to a waterfall or just chill out on the beach. Then it’s back on the catamaran for the return trip to PV.

Check out this guide for more information about things to do in Yelapa.

Yelapa

My husband and I of 30 years had a fabulous time!! The crew was top notch!! This is by far our most memorable experience!! Thank you to the owner & crew for creating the best time ever!! I have never been on a trip where the crew was constantly asking if we needed anything. The food was wonderful! You could use all kinds of water equipment, get a massage, and the drinks kept on coming!! Sexy David even gave me a lap dance, which was hilarious!! Everyone was so personable! Best trip ever! – The Mason’s (read more reviews here) .

#2 Marietas Islands Catamaran Tour

Another popular option from Chica Locca is their all-inclusive tour to the Marietas Islands . This is the boat that we rented for the aforementioned birthday party and it has everything you need, including a water slide!

On the way out to the Marietas Islands, you’ll get to enjoy breakfast as you take in the views. Depending on the season, you can do some whale watching on the way out there.

It being a Chica Locca tour, there’s an open bar as well. When you get to the islands, you might see Blue Footed Boobies. This is one of the very few places other than the Galapagos Islands where they can be found.

PV Marietas Islands

It should be noted that this tour does not include access to Hidden Beach, as permits are very limited. If you really want to check it out, you can let them know, and they’ll try to get you there for an extra fee.

Lunch is included on this tour as well, and the food is pretty damn good for the small kitchen they have on board. The staff at Chica Locca really knock it out of the park and do their best to make sure you have the best day ever.

While we didn’t take the boat to the Marietas Islands, we did have an amazing time on it. Check out this short video to see what it’s like on board this awesome tour.

The trip to Marietas Island was fantastic! The staff is fun and attentive, the food was delicious and they were so kind to our kids as well. We had the special experience of seeing several humpback whales and it was really the experience of a lifetime. We would all highly recommend Chica Loco tours! – TripAdvisor (read more reviews here)

🇲🇽 Puerto Vallarta Quick Guide 🇲🇽 ✈️ Airport – The Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) airport is a 20-minute ride to the city center. You can book an airport transfer here. 🏩 Hotels – The best websites for booking hotels and resorts are Booking.com and Expedia, which search all properties to find you the best deals. For inspiration on where to stay, head to my ultimate guide to Puerto Vallarta hotels. 🚗 Getting around – Puerto Vallarta is easy to get around by walking and Uber, but renting a car is the best way to explore the surrounding areas. Discover Cars is the best website for finding deals, which searches International and local Mexican companies. 🌊 Things to do – Puerto Vallarta is a paradise for outdoor adventure! Some of the top things to do are whale watching , yacht trips , and ATV tours. ✔️ Don’t forget travel insurance! I use and love SafetyWing, which is insurance for remote workers. For shorter trips, I recommend HeyMondo – you can get 5% off by using that link.

Vallarta Adventures

When it comes to Puerto Vallarta catamaran tours, the folks at Vallarta Adventures sure know what they’re doing. They also have a couple of different options to choose from.

#3. Luxury Yacht and Snorkeling

sailboat puerto vallarta tour

This is another one of the top Puerto Vallarta boat tours. On this luxury yacht and snorkeling tour , you’ll enjoy a scenic cruise around the Bay of Banderas. Observe the Malecon and the famous pier at Los Muertos Beach from the comfort of this well-equipped catamaran.

There’s a stop to do some snorkeling or water sports, where you’ll see plenty of tropical fish and maybe some marine life like turtles or dolphins. Snacks are included, as well as an open bar.

A highlight of this tour is a visit to the stunning Majahuitas Beach. Be sure to bring a waterproof camera or a dry bag so you can snap some pics of this epic place surrounded by tropical rainforest.

Paddle Boarding in Puerto Vallarta

This Is By Far In The Top 3, Best Experience I Had In My Life. Truly Truly Amazing. The Crew Was There To Take Care Of Our Every Needs. The Beach We Had To Swim Too Was Gorgeous. Will Recommend & Will Book Again. You Guys Keep Them Polaroïd Safe 📸😁 – Jean ( read more reviews here)

#4. Las Caletas Day Tour

sailboat puerto vallarta tour

The coolest thing about the Vallarta Adventures tours is that they have their own private beach. That’s where you’ll head on this epic day tour to Las Caletas .

As with the other tours mentioned so far, this one takes you through the bay, passing by town. There’s also a gourmet lunch and – you guessed it – an open bar on board. What can we say – PV knows how to party!

Once in Las Caletas, you get to choose your own adventure. You can simply kick back and relax in a hammock on the beach if you like. If you’re feeling more active, you can do some water activities kayaking or snorkeling.

They have some other fun options as well, such as a nature walk with a guide where you’ll meet the residents of the area like macaws. For those feeling adventurous, there are waterslides and ziplines in the jungle.

You can also add on a cooking class, mezcal tasting, or a clay modeling session. The sky really is the limit on this jam-packed tour.

Recommend 100000%!! Def worth every dime! The atmosphere, the views, everything. My family loved it! – Crissma (r ead more reviews here )

#5. Rhythms of the Night

PV Rhythms of the Night

After the day tour leaves Las Caletas, it’s time to get ready for Rhythms of the Night. This is one of the top Puerto Vallarta catamaran tours, with a delicious buffet dinner and an incredible performance.

This tour starts with a lovely sunset cruise down to Las Caletas, complete with cervezas and margaritas of course. Once you arrive at the beach, a torch-lit path takes you to your table for a wonderful dinner.

When you’ve had your fill, it’s time to take your seat in the lovely natural amphitheater for the show. Alma is a mix of acrobatics, special effects, and original music. It definitely has a Cirque du Soleil vibe to it.

This is one of the most popular catamaran tours in Puerto Vallarta, and for good reason. We’ve already gone twice and would happily go a third time. It’s just that good!

My family and I had an incredible experience!! The boat ride to the island turned into a whale siting trip. The dinner on the island was good and the show was fantastic!!!!! The boat ride back kept the festive mood alive. Everyone was kind and helpful!! Truly worth every penny of the cost!!! – Carol ( read more reviews here)

Whichever Puerto Vallarata catamaran tour you choose, you’re guaranteed to have an amazing day at sea.

While there are plenty of fun things to do in Puerto Vallarta on land, no visit would be complete without some fun out at sea so make sure to include one of these tours while planning your itinerary.

Puerto Vallarta’s original Whale Watching Tour Company  and the most  EcoFriendly!   Our classic sailboats have great unobstructed viewing and sailboats are the best way to watch and take photos of marine life while minimizing the disruptive impact on their natural habitat and environment.

The Humpback Whale is the most playful of all whales and they migrate to our warm tropical waters from their northern feeding grounds for mating and calving.  Males initiate mating by singing and impressive demonstrations of power such as tail flapping, pectoral fin slapping, and breaches where a 40-ton whale will come flying out of the water!  Females impregnated the year before return and calve and newborns are very playful as their moms get them ready for the migration north.

Join us on our comfortable classic sailboats (bathroom and shade), with low noise to minimize the impact to the whales, and excellent viewing.  Our guides and crew provide a wealth of information as they share our passion for these magnificent animals.  Relax and enjoy excellent service and hospitality.

I’ve traveled the world. I’ve been on boat tours from Italy to Thailand. This boat tour was above and beyond. Daniel was a dream guide (god). He was knowledgeable, personable, and a wonderful person to be around. The rest of the crew saw to our every need. The boat ride, the “secret” places, the food and the drink were all aces. Thank you all so very much for a wonderful day.

sailboat puerto vallarta tour

So we randomly came across Jet at the boat ramp area in Puerto Vallarta. Through kinda a strange turn events ended up going on his tour that day. What an amazing experience it was. There were some other really fun people scheduled in the boat so it was perfect. If you have a day available and want to experience something other than your resort or the Old Town this is the tour for you.

We took the Friday tour and it was amazing. The secluded beach we went to was probably the best sight of the entire 7 days in Puerto Vallarta. I don't think I have ever seen anything more tropical. The mood was great, the company was awesome and the entire trip was really relaxing and comfortable. This is a must!

A highlight in PV! Five of us booked a 30' boat and spent 5 hours going up the coast. Jet, Gabriel (Gabby) and Nestor were exquisite hosts. We stopped at a beautiful cove for snorkeling. We were the only ones there. Beautiful and plentiful fish. Walked to the waterfall in Yelapa and hiked a bit in Quimixto. Jet and crew made the trip fun and educational. Loved that it rained lightly all afternoon. Made for a rainforest feel. Lush and tropical. Don't pass up a boat tour with Jet!!

We had a private day tour with the Jet tours on their 40' Sea Ray Yacht. The day could not have been better and Jet's boat team was superb. Mario was an exceptional host and Armando was an excellent and highly capable captain. They were very attentive to the needs of our group of 2 adults and 3 teens. We look forward to booking another trip with Jet Private Boats next time we are in Puerto Vallarta!

My girlfriend and I went from Puerto Vallarta to Yelapa and stopped at several places along the way. Brandon was the best guide I think I've had on any trip in any country - he is very personable but also knows when you want your alone time. Never intrusive and always helpful. He accommodated exactly what we wanted and I will say that the stop (and lunch) in Yelapa was AMAZING! Highly recommended. Thank you!

  • L658FDmicheller 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great day whale watching! They were right in time and had excellent communication throughout our reservation process. We watched as the captain expertly approached the dock that was very busy. We had a beautiful half day search for whales. And while tons of other boats went racing off to form a circle around the whales el Capitan Marcos patiently headed in a different direction and really delivered. We saw one whale do breech after breech, we couldn’t believe our luck!! We saw tons of whales from near and far, tales and spouts and a mama and baby came right alongside our boat while we waited in an area they knew should yield sightings. We were all just mesmerized. While the staff reminded us we hit the Super Bowl if days, even half the sightings would have made us happy as we realize there is a bit of luck and good timing to a whale watch tour. Aside from the whales it was just a nice quiet sailing ride. They provided fruit snacks including really good guac! Their crew of two gave us whatever we asked for. We would highly recommend Anamar Adventures to others and will definitely choose them next time. We had 8 people on their 38’ c&c sailboat, which was perfect. Any more and it would have been crowded. • Q6645AMsarahl 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Wonderful private sailing trip in Puerto Vallarta/Bay of Banderas Our experience was Anamar Adventures was great from the start. They were extremely responsive and helpful to a request for information through "contact us" on their website. From there, the planning was a breeze. We were met at the entry to the marina by a company representative (Yeruan, who helped plan everything) and taken to the beautiful Catamaran Lagoon, where we were greeted with a beautiful fresh fruit plate and a welcome (yummy) drink. The crew (Capt. Armando, Fernando & Diego) were great - friendly, helpful, accommodating and informative. We sailed out to Los Arcos and then Capt. Armando said he thought he knew where whales were, and took us there - sure enough - a mom and her baby and their escort. It was incredible. Then they took us to a beautiful private beach. The guacamole they provided was delicious, and we had brought our own lunch, which they set up to look like a gourmet meal! We had plenty of room to move around on the boat and enjoy ourselves, and the adventure ended too soon for us. I would go out with them in a heartbeat! Read more Written January 4, 2024

Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta: Which is Better? (2024)

Are you planning your next Mexican vacation and debating Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta? You’re in the right place!

I’ve lived in Cozumel for over a year. I’ve also spent a lot of time in Puerto Vallarta. So you could say I’m an expert on both places.

For me, Cozumel wins hands down. The ocean is more beautiful and warmer. The people are super friendly. And I love how laid back it is.

But that doesn’t mean Puerto Vallarta isn’t great, too. There’s a lot to do and see and the beaches are quite beautiful.

Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta are very different. Which place is best for you depends on what you’re looking for.

Let’s take a close look at both destinations so you can plan your perfect vacation.

Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta: Which is Better?

Both destinations offer their unique charm, stunning landscapes, and a ton of activities that promise an unforgettable getaway.

But, when it comes down to choosing one for your next vacation, things can get a bit tricky.

Whether you’re drawn to laid-back island life in Cozumel or the vibrant culture of Puerto Vallarta, I’ve got the scoop to help you decide. So, let’s get started and see which destination might be the perfect fit for your next adventure.

Overview of Cozumel

Cozumel , a lush island paradise in the Caribbean Sea, is a gem that’s hard to overlook. Known for its crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs, it’s a haven for divers and snorkelers from around the globe.

But there’s more to Cozumel than just underwater adventures. This island is steeped in rich Mayan culture, offering a chance to explore historical sites and learn about its fascinating past.

The island’s laid-back atmosphere is perfect if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its stunning beaches, many of them free , you can easily find a secluded spot to relax or join in on the fun at more lively beach clubs.

Cozumel is also known for its friendly locals, delicious cuisine, and charming downtown area, where you can shop for unique souvenirs and artisanal crafts.

Cozumel does get a bit crowded during high season when there can be several cruise ships in port. But it’s still possible to find a quiet spot to hang out.

Things to Do in Cozumel

In Cozumel, the adventure never ends. This island is a playground for both thrill-seekers and those looking to unwind. Here’s a rundown of the top things to do:

Jeep Tours : Embark on a rugged journey around the island in a Jeep. It’s a fantastic way to explore hidden gems, secluded beaches, and get a taste of the local scenery. These tours often include stops at historical sites and natural parks .

Overview of Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta, located on Mexico ‘s Pacific coast, is a destination that effortlessly blends natural beauty, traditional Mexican culture, and modern amenities.

The city is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Sierra Madre mountains and faces the sparkling waters of Banderas Bay, offering breathtaking landscapes at every turn.

Unlike the island vibe of Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta thrives on its lively atmosphere, characterized by its busy boardwalks and colorful streets.

The city is renowned for its exquisite dining scene, ranging from street food stalls serving up authentic Mexican cuisine to gourmet restaurants with innovative menus.

Art and culture are at the heart of Puerto Vallarta. The city’s cobblestone streets are lined with galleries showcasing local art, and public sculptures dot the seaside promenade.

Puerto Vallarta combines the thrill of adventure with the beauty of nature and the warmth of its people, making it a destination that truly has something for everyone.

Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta: Which is Safer?

Both Puerto Vallarta and Cozumel are generally considered safe. After spending time in both cities, I feel that Cozumel is a bit safer than Puerto Vallarta.

Not that Puerto Vallarta is unsafe, but there were times that I felt uncomfortable being alone. Let’s look closer.

Cozumel Safety

As an island, Cozumel tends to be more contained, which contributes to its reputation as a safe destination for tourists . The local community is known for being welcoming and protective of visitors.

I’ve always felt very safe in Cozumel. I’ve been out alone at night and never felt threatened.

However, as with any tourist hotspot, it’s wise to be mindful of your belongings, especially in crowded areas or when exploring less frequented parts of the island.

Puerto Vallarta Safety

Puerto Vallarta has a strong presence of local and tourist police, making it one of the safer cities in Mexico for travelers.

The areas frequented by tourists, including the Malecón, Zona Romántica, and Marina Vallarta, are well-patrolled and equipped with security cameras.

Nonetheless, you should exercise standard safety precautions, such as avoiding deserted areas at night and keeping an eye on personal possessions in busy spots.

Puerto Vallarta’s local authorities are very proactive in maintaining the city’s safety, given its importance as a tourist destination.

Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta: Beaches

When it comes to choosing between Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta based on their beaches, it’s like comparing two paradises, each with its own unique allure.

For me, Cozumel wins hands down. I’m all about the Caribbean so I admit I’m biased. The decision ultimately boils down to what you want in a beach experience.

Cozumel’s Beaches

Cozumel’s beaches are famous for their stunning, crystal-clear turquoise waters and coral reefs, making them a diver’s and snorkeler’s paradise .

The island’s eastern coast features more rugged, untouched beaches with powerful waves and breathtaking views, ideal for escaping the crowds and enjoying the raw beauty of nature.

On the western side, you’ll find calmer waters and sandy shores, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. Notable beaches include:

  • Playa Palancar : A serene beach offering a relaxing atmosphere and excellent snorkeling opportunities .
  • Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park : Combines a beautiful beach with amenities and attractions, including snorkeling, a sea lion show, and replicas of Mayan ruins.
  • Playa San Francisco : Known for its crystal-clear waters and soft sands, this beach is ideal for families and offers a variety of water sports.
  • Paradise Beach : A popular spot with a fun beach club, offering a pool, water toys, and a restaurant, making it perfect for a day of relaxation and entertainment.
  • Playa Mia Grand Beach Park : Features a water park with slides, a shopping area, and numerous water activities, catering to visitors of all ages looking for fun in the sun.

Puerto Vallarta’s Beaches

The beaches in Puerto Vallarta are characterized by their golden sands and the stunning backdrop of the Sierra Madre mountains.

The city’s beaches are more urban and accessible, with a lively vibe and plenty of amenities nearby, including restaurants, bars, and shops.

The waters of Banderas Bay are generally calm, making them ideal for swimming and water sports. Some of the most popular beaches include:

  • Playa Los Muertos : The most famous beach in Puerto Vallarta, known for its lively atmosphere, pier, and beach clubs.
  • Conchas Chinas : Offers a more secluded and romantic setting with natural pools formed by rock formations.
  • Playa Mismaloya : This beach gained fame from the movie “The Night of the Iguana” and offers a mix of history, beauty, and clear waters, perfect for snorkeling and kayaking.
  • Playa Las Gemelas : Two beautiful, small beaches known for their clear turquoise waters and tranquil atmosphere, ideal for those looking to escape the crowds.
  • Playa de los Camarones : Located near the northern end of the Malecón, this beach is great for families and offers a variety of water activities along with beachside dining options.

The Verdict : If your ideal beach day involves diving into the depths to explore coral reefs and marine life , Cozumel’s beaches are the way to go. The island’s clear waters provide some of the best snorkeling and diving experiences in the world.

On the other hand, if you prefer your beach day with a side of cultural experiences and the convenience of nearby amenities, Puerto Vallarta’s beaches offer golden sands, beautiful sunsets, and a lively atmosphere, all within walking distance of the city’s attractions.

Both destinations offer unique beach experiences that cater to different preferences. Whether you’re looking for an underwater adventure or a beach day filled with cultural touches, you can’t go wrong with either Cozumel or Puerto Vallarta.

Choosing Between Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta

  • For Diving Enthusiasts : Cozumel’s resorts are particularly geared towards divers and those looking to enjoy the island’s marine life.

  • For All-Inclusive Fans : While both locations have all-inclusive options, Cozumel tends to have a wider selection of resorts that specialize in this type of accommodation. You can even find many all-inclusive resorts that cater to families .

Cozumel vs Puerto Vallarta: Prices

Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta offer different experiences and, accordingly, different price points.

Here’s a breakdown of what you might expect in terms of prices for accommodations, dining, activities, and transportation in both locations.

Cost of Accommodations

Cozumel : Generally, Cozumel offers a range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly hotels to luxury resorts.

Prices can be slightly higher for beachfront properties and all-inclusive resorts, especially those catering to divers with specific amenities. However, there are also many mid-range options that provide great value for money.

Puerto Vallarta : Puerto Vallarta’s accommodation landscape is quite diverse, offering everything from luxury villas and high-end resorts to affordable hostels and boutique hotels.

The price range is broad, with the high-end accommodations typically located in exclusive areas like Marina Vallarta and the Romantic Zone. Overall, Puerto Vallarta offers more variability in pricing, catering to a wider range of budgets.

Cost of Dining

Cozumel : Dining in Cozumel can be quite affordable, especially if you stick to local eateries and street food.

Seafood is a specialty here, and eating at local markets or beachside shacks offers a delicious experience at a lower cost. Restaurants in tourist areas and hotels tend to be pricier.

Puerto Vallarta : Puerto Vallarta is known for its food scene, ranging from street tacos to gourmet dining experiences.

While you can find meals at a bargain, especially in local neighborhoods, the city also has a number of high-end restaurants where prices are higher but still offer good value for the quality and ambiance.

Cost of Activities

Cozumel : The main attractions in Cozumel revolve around its natural beauty, especially its coral reefs. Snorkeling and diving are the most popular activities, with prices varying based on the provider and the length of the excursion.

Other activities like visiting Mayan ruins, jeep tours, and beach clubs also offer a range of prices but are generally affordable.

Puerto Vallarta : Activities in Puerto Vallarta are diverse, from free walking tours of the city’s historic center to expensive adventure sports like parasailing and zip-lining.

Whale-watching tours and excursions to nearby attractions add to the cost but are worth the experience. The city also offers a lot of free or low-cost cultural experiences, making it easy to enjoy without spending a lot.

Cost of Transportation

Cozumel : Getting around Cozumel is relatively inexpensive, with options including taxis, rental scooters, and bicycles. Since it’s an island, many destinations can be reached quickly, keeping transportation costs down.

Puerto Vallarta : Puerto Vallarta has an extensive public transportation system that is very affordable, though taxis and ride-sharing services are also available at reasonable rates. Renting a car can be more expensive but is a good option for exploring more remote areas.

Which is Cheaper, Cozumel or Puerto Vallarta?

Both Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta offer a range of prices that can accommodate various budgets. Cozumel might be slightly more expensive due to its island status, especially for accommodations and certain activities.

Puerto Vallarta, with its broader range of options, can cater to both budget travelers and those looking to splurge.

Puerto Vallarta vs Cozumel: Getting There & Getting Around

Both Cozumel and Puerto Vallarta come with its own set of logistics when it comes to getting there and getting around. Here’s what you need to know:

Getting to Cozumel

  • By Air : Cozumel has its own international airport (Cozumel International Airport, CZM) that welcomes direct flights from several major cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This makes getting to Cozumel relatively straightforward if you’re coming from these locations.
  • By Ferry : If you’re flying into Cancun , another option is to take a shuttle or bus to Playa del Carmen and then catch a ferry to Cozumel. The ferry ride takes about 45 minutes and offers beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea.

Getting to Puerto Vallarta

  • By Air : Puerto Vallarta is served by the Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), which receives direct flights from numerous cities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The airport is conveniently located close to the city and major resorts.
  • By Road : For travelers within Mexico or those coming from the U.S. border, driving to Puerto Vallarta is an option. The city is connected by major highways, but it’s a long journey from most places, so it’s more common to fly.

Getting Around Cozumel

  • Rental Cars : Renting a car is a popular way to explore Cozumel, especially if you plan to visit beaches and attractions around the island. Just be sure to drive cautiously, as roads can be narrow and winding.
  • Taxis : Taxis are readily available but don’t use meters, so be sure to agree on the fare before setting off. Note that Uber or Lyft are not available in Cozumel .
  • Bicycles : For shorter distances or if you’re staying near the main town, bicycles are a pleasant way to get around, offering a slower pace to enjoy the scenery.

Getting Around Puerto Vallarta

  • Public Buses : Puerto Vallarta has an extensive and affordable bus system that can take you to most tourist attractions, beaches, and nearby towns. Buses are frequent, though they can be crowded at peak times.
  • Taxis and Ride-Sharing : Taxis are widely available throughout Puerto Vallarta. Ride-sharing apps also operate in the city, offering another convenient option for getting around. As with Cozumel, agree on a fare in advance if the taxi doesn’t use a meter.
  • Walking : In areas like the Malecón, Zona Romántica, and the downtown core, walking is often the best way to explore. Many of Puerto Vallarta’s attractions are within walking distance of each other, making it easy to soak in the city’s atmosphere on foot.
