Nautical Touches

The original designs were created by Glade Johnson, but since then, Starship has made sure to stay contemporary with various refits and upgrades, the most recent of which was in 2021 by Bonville Associates. Grand designs are evident in both the social spaces and cabins, and the soft furnishings pay homage to her nautical roots with their rich blue accents.

Relax and Unwind

The exterior spaces on Starship are created for the ultimate in relaxation. The center of attention on the sun deck is the Jacuzzi, surrounded by loungers, a seating area, and bar stools to soak up the sun in any way you choose. The spaces are ideal for socialising which is also evident on her aft deck, which features al fresco dining for all 12 guests, along with a large screen so you can unwind however you see best.

STARSHIP Yacht for Charter

The 143-foot (43.59m) Van Mill luxury yacht STARSHIP, for charter with Northrop & Johnson, is an excellent family cruiser.

STARSHIP has benefited from multiple refits throughout her life. She was launched by Van Mill in 1988 and underwent a full comprehensive refit in 2006, during which her interior was completely redone. In 2010, she received Zero Speed stabilizers and new generators and a 2015 multi-mullion dollar refit once again revitalized the yacht.

Five spacious staterooms cater to 10 guests on board STARSHIP. Her master suite is located amidships on the lower deck and features a California king bed, full seating area with a sofa and chairs, large walk-in closets with a dressing area and an elegant en-suite marble accented bathroom with steam shower. Four additional staterooms are aft of the Master. These include a double guest stateroom with Pullman and sofa bed, two mirrored guest staterooms with king-size beds and a twin guest stateroom to starboard. Each stateroom is en-suite with head and shower and each is fully equipped with flat screen TV, DVD and CD.

STARSHIP has three spacious decks for guests to enjoy. Her aft deck is covered and has a large table for alfresco dining. The flybridge also has a large dining table. The top alfresco deck is outfitted with a large eight-person Jacuzzi. STARSHIP also has a sunpad on her bow and a large swim platform.

Crew Information

Captain: chris wallace.

Chris Wallace – Captain Languages Spoken: English Captain Chris, originally from the south of England, has been in yachting for 20+ years. His favorite things about yachting include navigation, challenges, water sports, and meeting all the great people. He got into yachting by virtue of helping people with boats in his local marina. After a while, people started paying him to help and he soon discovered all the benefits that come with a career in yachting. So, he sold everything he had (except his windsurfing gear), got licensed, and went and got his first job as an engineer on the classic, Moonmaiden II. A fun fact about Captain Chris, when he finished college, he moved to the Canary Islands and lived in a tent on the beach for 2 years. Also, at 17 years old, he came 2nd in the under 19’s national windsurf championships in the UK. Finally, he loves telling Dad jokes, as he often finds they make him laugh! Carla – Mate Languages: English Carla has been in yachting for 9 years and hails from South Africa. Her favorite yachting activity is Scuba diving and, is how she found her way into yachting! Carla is a PADI certified open water instructor and holds a 200 Ton Yacht Master License. A fun fact about Carla is she used to teach kids how to ride horses and really likes cake, yum! Jess – Chef Languages Spoken: English Jess grew up on the border of North Wales and Shropshire but spent a lot of time on the coast near Abersoch where she now has a vacation cottage. She has been working in the yachting industry for 10 years, traveling between the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and USA. Her favorite yachting activity is scuba diving and experiencing all the beauty of the underwater world. Along with completing culinary school in 2018, chef also holds a power boat level 2 cert, has completed multiple sailing courses, is a PADI advanced open water diver, and holds a wine and spirit certification. Jess made her way into yachting at the age of 18 while working in a high-end restaurant and looking into courses in hospitality. One day, her mum heard from someone about a yachting opportunity. They eagerly investigated the opportunity and booked a 5-week course in the Isle of Wight; the rest is history! A fun fact about chef is she has visited half of the states in the U.S. Dani - Chief Stew Languages Spoken: English, Thai Dani has been yachting for five and a half years now. She grew up between Indiana and California. Dani made her way into yachting when a friend of hers, who spent a substantial amount of time in the British Virgin Isles for work, told Dani about the exciting stories she heard from her friends there in yachting. Dani thought their job sounded amazing and was already working in hospitality at the time. That, coupled with her love of traveling, made a career in yachting seem like a natural fit. So, after doing some research, she made the move to South Florida to embark on an exciting new career! Dani just loves being in the water. Whether it’s just swimming, snorkeling, or paddle boarding, the water is where she finds her bliss. A fun fact about Dani is she comes from a big family with 6 brothers and sisters, so she was already used to living with several people and the chaos that ensues in a big family! This helped prepare her for life in a small crew mess with her big boat fam! Wallace – Captain
Languages Spoken: English

Captain Chris, originally from the south of England, has been in yachting for 20+ years.

Carla – Mate
Languages: English

Carla has been in yachting for 9 years and hails from South Africa. Most expenses are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), a fund that is added on top of the charter price. The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption). You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled). The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.">Price Terms: Plus Expenses

We love the Yacht Starship! Every event, no matter the type or size, is given the utmost attention. There is nothing left to chance, the best food, beautiful sites, wonderful event coordinators, what's not to love?

We are BLOWN AWAY by our experience! The staff was so professional and sweet - class act, five-star service! And this is after they serviced a wedding earlier in the day! And the FOOD! Omgosh we were so pleasantly surprised! We eat a lot of catered food obviously lol and did not expect much for the food - but WOW were we wrong! Everything was DELICIOUS! Our favorites were the homemade salad dressing, prime rib and the creamy tomato soup. And the bread pudding!!!!! My goodness we felt spoiled! We are so very grateful for this experience. We truly had a lovely evening enjoying this experience and of course the beautiful boat ride and scenery. We even made it to the dance floor!

Taylar, November 2023

We got married on Yacht Starship IV out of Clearwater Beach and our wedding day was absolutely incredible. Everything went so perfect and smooth. Joey, our venue coordinator, was phenomenal down to every detail and keeping things running smoothly. We can’t thank him enough for taking care of us on our day. The other staff and Dj Pharaoh were also incredible. We have heard from family and friends that it was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! We cannot thank them enough for making it so special for us.

Marczak Wedding, June 2023

We wanted a unique all in one ceremony and reception, we were exploring downtown when we came across yacht starship we looked at each other and thought “how cool would it be to get married on the water”. From the moment we contacted the boat for a meeting it was a amazing experience. We first met with Chris D to talk about the details, guest count, date and our vision once that was in place and contract was signed 3 month out we were contacted by Joey O (our day of coordinator). We scheduled an in person meeting to walk through the yacht and decide seating arrangements and table placements and talk time line. Every time I reached out with a question or concern I had an answer right away. Honestly this takes the stress out of wedding planning they were so helpful with everything. We were able to do a rehearsal the day before on our boat as well as bring on any décor that we would need to have set up & Joey made sure it was done and reflected our vision. Our wedding was Friday, June 16th and was flawless. We are still getting compliments on the amazing food and service by the waitstaff. A huge THANK YOU to Chris D and Joey O for helping us plan & pull off a flawless wedding. Mr. & Mrs. Marczak

Sleigher Wedding, May 2023

If you want a wedding venue, this is it! Our wedding couldn’t have been more perfect. Everyone on staff was incredible, the food is so good and everything was super efficient.

Kate, April 2023

This couldn’t have been better for our rehearsal dinner! The cruise was perfect for our out of state guests. They got to experience being out on the water, and getting to see Tampa. The staff was so wonderful, and Wendy was so prompt and helpful with all of our emails. Couldn’t recommend Yacht Starship enough!

Amanda, May 2023

We would definitely recommend The Yacht Starship for your wedding. The wedding coordinator Joey was absolutely fantastic! He made sure everyone was taken care of! Starship truly did everything for us and planning was a breeze. A lot of things we didn’t have to worry about and the things they weren’t able to provide like a photographer they had an amazing list of recommendations. We truly want to thank starship and we will definitely be back on their dinner cruises.

Sidney, March 2023

Yacht Starship IV was an absolute DREAM wedding! From the coordinator (Amelia – amazing), staff, food, timing, location… It was exactly what I had pictured for our wedding! The DJ, captain, coordinator, and staff were so accommodating to everything I asked and made sure we were taken care of. We got married in March with perfect weather. Ceremony, first dances, and all our reception dancing took place on the top deck – so fun!

Judy, March 2023

I can’t say enough amazing things about the Yacht Starship! Our gorgeous Yacht was Starship II. We worked with Wendy Odom & Eric Abril both were so accommodating, answered every question and concern with the utmost professionalism! Always helpful !! The wedding went smooth as silk, we were guided every step of the way. Talk about attentive, the entire staff was exceptional! Anything we needed wanted or desired was foreseen by a staff member and delivered before we even asked! We had a sit down dinner for the reception. We chose steak, chicken or salmon everyone said their food was delicious! The DJ was great. Highly recommend this venue!
