63' Cape Horn CH63 Trawlers
$50,000 price reduction!
The best built, best equipped 63' Cape Horn CH63 Trawler STEEL OASIS is now available! A spectacular pedigreed Cape Horn trawler, hull # 6, whose emphasis is on safety, redundancies, quality, low maintenance, and luxury liveaboard cruising. Her first owners lightly cruised Two By Sea for 2 years, second owners enjoyed Florida, Bahamas, and Caribbean for 12 years; the next owners purchased the former Two By Sea for world cruising but an unexpected medical situation allowed only coastal cruising and trip to Bahamas. New owners had professional surveyors for 3 days, including full audiogauging with only a few minor issues noted and those have been corrected. The owner cruised from FL to home port in VA. but a change in family plans now requires the sale of Steel Oasis. The ownership history has kept Steel Oasis in outstanding mechanical and cosmetic condition. The replacement cost for this vessel including her upgrades and options would be well over $3 million dollars. This truly is a must see yacht and an opportunity.

Cape Horn Yachts for Sale
Cape horn trawlers for sale.
FOAM-FILLED BULLETPROOF HULLS – We talk a lot about the strength, wood-free design and the thickness of our hulls. Another key factor in our legendary ride is pressure filling every inch of empty space in the hull with closed cell foam. The foam quiets the ride, adds stiffness to the hull and makes every Cape Horn absolutely unsinkable. How many boats can make that claim?
SOFT ENTRY BOW – Another Cape Horn first. After 30 years of hands-on, real life testing and thousands of miles of running into heavy seas, we found exactly what it takes for the softest entry and driest ride. A proprietary designed cutwater helps smooth out the bumps while the reverse chines direct any spray down and away from the hull. Increased speed and fuel economy are a result.
LIGHT, FAST, SAFE – With a unique construction process, Cape Horn is unlike any other. Our sculpted process prevents us from ever mass producing these boats, but mass production is not part of our agenda. This process is slow and contributes to our limited production, but guarantees an all-composite boat that will out last its owner.
FAST DRAINING COCKPITS – Self-bailing hulls help water exit quickly by design with oversized scuppers. Say good-bye to wet feet the others provide while also being easier to clean after a trip to the islands.

- Build A Boat
The Cape Horn Difference
A tradition of excellence.
Our team of experts have spent the past 35 years refining and perfecting our boats. From creating the in-house designs to the final inspection, meticulous attention to detail and expert craftsmanship go into each step to ensure our boats are the strongest in the industry.
Our legacy began decades ago in the garage of Chris Fabbro and his father, Bob Fabbro. They recognized the need for a no-nonsense fishing boat that could meet the demands of hardcore fisherman while remaining affordable and easy to maintain. And so the first Cape Horn boat—the Cape Horn 16 Classic—was born. Today, our legacy lives on. With a line-up that delivers better quality, more standard features, and a larger size than any other boat on the market, Cape Horn has established a reputation for designing and building premier offshore boats.
Our mission is simple: to help you catch what you haven’t . Every fisherman has one—that one catch you haven’t found yet or the one that got away. We’re here to help you get that one.
From excellence-driven craftsmanship to exceptional customer service, our passions are to exceed expectations and equip our clients with the highest-quality vessels for every boating experience.
Improvement: We believe that no boat should fail, ever. Innovation is the cornerstone of these beliefs by improving our products in every aspect.
Simplicity: In simplicity you find reliability and strength. You won’t find unnecessary frills on our boats. Our no-nonsense approach guarantees that owning one of our products is an uninterrupted experience.
Construction & Our Process
Like every good business, we start with a plan.
Proven year after year, our molds are the closest thing to perfection you'll find.
Multiple layers of fiberglass and resin give your boat the unparalleled strength needed to explore the offshore with confidence.
The inner hull is pressure-filled with closed-cell urethane foam. Our two-step foam process fills cavities to capacity for a smooth, quiet ride.
Stringers and flooring give your hull additional form.
We weren’t kidding when we said bulletproof hull. The cross section of this 27xs bottom illustrates the rigid composite construction.
From iceboxes to center consoles, we hand-build and construct each piece.
No detail is too small; even the parts of the boat you will never see are carefully inspected to ensure they are perfect in every way.
Additional glass and resin are applied to guarantee nothing is overlooked.
While most boats are molded on the inside, each Cape Horn boat is hand-built or sculpted one at a time.
Once the hull is fully cured, the boat is ready to be separated from the mold and joined to the top assembly.
Confirming the hull and flooring are sealed perfectly each time, every time is an important part of the process.
The two halves are joined together, and the boat is now ready for the rigging shop.
Rod holders are carefully placed where you need them – everywhere.
The hardware and engineering systems are now installed. Tracey and Joann have been rigging and wiring Cape Horn boats for over two decades—it’s safe to say they’re experts.
Every Cape Horn comes with a solid 316 stainless steel nose guard. It’s for more than just good looks.
Why Cape Horn?
THE FIRST TIME YOU FISH IT, YOU WILL UNDERSTAND.
Whether you are behind the wheel or manning the rod, the Cape Horn brings a no-nonsense approach to offshore fishing. Huge floor plans allow an uncluttered workstation when the bite is on. From bow to stern every detail is engineered and tournament-tested for one purpose- to fish.
Most of the offshore models are equipped with two enormous live wells and possibly the largest fully insulated fish box available. At 7’ of length the fish box will challenge you to find a game fish that won’t fit—good luck. With a dry ride and soft entry, the newly designed Cape Horns are forging a new legacy. One that just may be the most rugged and reliable center console you will ever find.
We talk a lot about the strength, wood-free design, and the thickness of our hulls. Another key factor in our legendary ride is pressure filling empty spaces in the hull with closed-cell foam. The foam quiets the ride and adds stiffness to the hull. How many boats can make that claim?
Another Cape Horn first. After 35 years of hands-on, real-life testing and thousands of miles of running into heavy seas, we found exactly what it takes for the softest entry and driest ride. A proprietary designed cutwater helps smooth out the bumps while the reverse chines direct any spray down and away from the hull. Increased speed and fuel economy are a result.
With a unique construction process, Cape Horn is unlike any other. Our sculpted process prevents us from ever mass producing these boats, but mass production is not part of our agenda. This process is slow and contributes to our limited production, but guarantees an all-composite boat that will outlast its owner.
Self-bailing hulls help water exit quickly by design with oversized scuppers. Say good-bye to the wet feet the others provide while also being easier to clean after a trip to the islands.
Fishing and boating are supposed to be enjoyable. Making the decks with a gel-coated finish for easy clean-up just seemed like another Cape Horn good idea.
Yes, Cape Horn boats have beautiful lines, ride dry and will get you to your favorite destination quickly. But they’re also meant to be used and are built to take a pounding. From the bulletproof hull to the stainless nose guard to the commercial rub rail that keeps you off the dock, you immediately see that we build Cape Horns based on real experience by real boaters.
When you own a boat meant to travel hundreds of miles offshore and return in a single day, you expect your equipment to be as durable as you are. Yacht-grade stainless steel hardware, oversized hinges, and cleats with room to spare make a long-lasting difference.
All Cape Horn wiring is tinned and jacketed in an automotive-style harness to withstand the elements and provide a lifetime of service.
Our panels are hand-built to control all of your boat's functions. Water-sealed, stainless push switches with LED indicators keep the dash well organized and easy to access.
Want multiple large displays and digital engine readouts? No problem. Maybe some underwater lighting? Want to add a sound system? We’ve got you covered there too.
Flyby wire throttles are easy on the gears and ensure a smooth, steady acceleration. This modern technology also helps with fuel economy. All Cape Horn models are outfitted with digital controls.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital
There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.
How to find the right boat?
There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.
Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.
This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.
Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such option offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).
If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.
Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.
How to buy tickets?
Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.
“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!” wrote (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.
Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.
Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.
Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.
Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as this offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.
This website (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other website sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.
Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.
“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.
There are two main boarding piers in the city center: Hotel Ukraine and Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.
Where to sit onboard?
Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.
The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.
Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.
There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.

Temperature
Precipitation, simulated historical climate & weather data for moscow.
- History & Climate
- Climate (modelled)
The meteoblue climate diagrams are based on 30 years of hourly weather model simulations and available for every place on Earth. They give good indications of typical climate patterns and expected conditions (temperature, precipitation, sunshine and wind). The simulated weather data have a spatial resolution of approximately 30 km and may not reproduce all local weather effects, such as thunderstorms, local winds, or tornadoes, and local differences as they occur in urban, mountainous, or coastal areas.
You can explore the climate for any location like the Amazon rainforest , West-Africa savannas , Sahara desert , Siberian Tundra or the Himalaya .
Hourly historical weather data since 1940 for Moscow can be purchased with history+ . Download variables such as temperature, wind, clouds and precipitation as CSV for any place on Earth.
Average temperatures and precipitation
The "mean daily maximum" (solid red line) shows the maximum temperature of an average day for every month for Moscow. Likewise, "mean daily minimum" (solid blue line) shows the average minimum temperature. Hot days and cold nights (dashed red and blue lines) show the average of the hottest day and coldest night of each month of the last 30 years. For vacation planning, you can expect the mean temperatures, and be prepared for hotter and colder days. Wind speeds are not displayed per default, but can be enabled at the bottom of the graph.
The precipitation chart is useful to plan for seasonal effects such as monsoon climate in India or wet season in Africa . Monthly precipitations above 150mm are mostly wet, below 30mm mostly dry. Note: Simulated precipitation amounts in tropical regions and complex terrain tend to be lower than local measurements.
Cloudy, sunny, and precipitation days
The graph shows the monthly number of sunny, partly cloudy, overcast and precipitation days. Days with less than 20% cloud cover are considered as sunny, with 20-80% cloud cover as partly cloudy and with more than 80% as overcast. While Reykjavík on Iceland has mostly cloudy days, Sossusvlei in the Namib desert is one of the sunniest places on earth.
Note: In tropical climates like in Malaysia or Indonesia the number of precipitation days may be overestimated by a factor up to 2.
Maximum temperatures
The maximum temperature diagram for Moscow displays how many days per month reach certain temperatures. Dubai , one of the hottest cities on earth, has almost none days below 40°C in July. You can also see the cold winters in Moscow with a few days that do not even reach -10°C as daily maximum.
Precipitation amounts
The precipitation diagram for Moscow shows on how many days per month, certain precipitation amounts are reached. In tropical and monsoon climates, the amounts may be underestimated.
The diagram for Moscow shows the days per month, during which the wind reaches a certain speed. An interesting example is the Tibetan Plateau , where the monsoon creates steady strong winds from December to April, and calm winds from June to October.
Wind speed units can be changed in the preferences (top right).
The wind rose for Moscow shows how many hours per year the wind blows from the indicated direction. Example SW: Wind is blowing from South-West (SW) to North-East (NE). Cape Horn , the southernmost land point of South America, has a characteristic strong west-wind, which makes crossings from East to West very difficult especially for sailing boats.
General information
Since 2007, meteoblue has been archiving weather model data. In 2014 we started to calculate weather models with historical data from 1985 onwards and generated a continuous 30-year global history with hourly weather data. The climate diagrams are the first simulated climate data-set made public on the net. Our weather history covers any place on earth at any given time regardless of availability of weather stations.
The data is derived from our global NEMS weather model at approximately 30km resolution and cannot reproduce detail local weather effects, such as heat islands, cold air flows, thunderstorms or tornadoes. For locations and events which require very high precision (such as energy generation, insurance, town planning, etc.), we offer high resolution simulations with hourly data through point+ , history+ and our API.
This data can be used under the Creative Commons license "Attribution + Non-commercial (BY-NC)". Any commercial use is illegal.
