Oceans 7 Yacht Club Restaurant in Great Harbour on Peter Island is now open! It is the place to be for events, dinners/parties, day trips and more!

Their dinner menu includes chicken, fish, ribs, steak and lobster along with a great selection of salads and appetizers including shrimp cocktail, fried calamari and conch fritters.

For those looking for something simple, they offer a full pizza menu. On Facebook recently, Oceans 7 posted, “That Red portion of the building is our Pizzaria!!! We can’t wait to share our amazing pizza with you!”

Ocean’s 7 is open for both lunch and dinner. Sail on over for a delicious meal. There are over 30 mooring balls are available.

Ocean's 7 Yacht Club

The Ocean’s Seven name was derived from the infamous movie Ocean’s 11, which featured Hollywood’s superstars. The Romneys, a well-known, respected, and Virgin Islands superstar family of their own right, was comprised of seven members, Cyril and Lily, the patriarch and matriarch, and their five lovely daughters. Cyril Romney, the mastermind behind his family’s entrepreneurial ventures, unfortunately passed away in 2007, just shy of the official opening of Ocean’s 7. The idea of an outer island upscale beach club to service a Tortola based hotel market spawned the birth of Callaloo on the Beach in 1999. The name changed to Lazy Iguana in 2005. After careful thinking and planning a whole new concept for a family oriented Beach Club with watersports, seaside dining, a bar specializing in tropical drinks, and warm friendly service, warranted an extensive facelift to the property that concluded just in time for the beginning of the Winter 2007 season.

The Ocean’s Seven Beach Club reflects and memorializes the legacy of our company’s founder, his beliefs and value for Family. Stopped here for lunch to try out the new restaurant. The setting is lovely, beautiful clear aqua water and the restaurant and beach are very nice. That being said, the menu is very limited and expensive. The burger was good, the bar was out of... limes and the margaritas and daiquiri were poor, tasting of artificial mix. We opted not to have dinner there, as, again, the prices seemed high - almost $30 for chicken fettuccine. Much better options at Cooper and the Bight. More

Went to dinner while moored overnight right out front. Food was great..... had the grilled yellowfin tuna done medium rare. Service was great as well from Bianca....... and I know it's a bold statement but they may have one of the best Painkillers in BVI... thanks to Mark! More

They are definitely open! Love this harbor. Food was ok. Service was very slow with a lot of missed items. An OK meal. Great facility, now they just need some good management and proper staffing. I would try it again. Server was very friendly but... overwhelmed. More

We heard from some other people we met this past week that Ocean's 7 had the best conch fritters they had ever had. So we gave it a try. Needless to say the conch fritters were basically conchless and underdone. The flavor and presentation was... great but we were not given any napkins. The center of each fritter was gooey and raw and the conch sparce at best, plus expensive for 6 for $16. We didn't send them back because there were too many people waiting at the bar. On another note, the kitchen was suppose to open at noon. We came at 5:15 and the bartender had to go check to see if it was open before he could place our order for the conch fritters. The resturant did not have any wait staff, just the bartender and one other guy in jeans and a t-shirt wandering around that was maybe the cook? The beer was cold but they didn't have any limes. There seemed to be only one menu for the whole place. It was at the bar so while you stood in line to get a drink, you had to share the menu with everyone else who was in line. We won't be back. The new restaurant is really nice and could be an excellent spot for dinner. Unfortunately, it’s staffed with people who could barely look up from their phones to acknowledge our presence. We were the only people there, it was a Saturday evening in early May.... Everywhere else was packed. Food is overpriced and a service fee was included in the bill. Also, you have to sign a waiver of owner liability to use their moorings. Food was decent, but this place won’t be open long. More

Overcooked, overpriced and inflated check produced. Four of us had the tuna/steak and ordered medium rare. The meat came overcooked. This place is fairly expensive (even for the BVI) but when we were presented with a $500 bill for 4 of us (just a main... course and 2 drinks each) I noticed we'd been charged for 4 bottles of wine at $50 a pop instead of $10 a glass. I told the waiter I was not happy at all, but instead of the manager appearing or any form of apology, a revised check arrived, still with the "obligatory" 15% service. Out of the dozens of places in the BVI, this has to be the worst and I'd be surprised if they stay in business long. Make sure you are self catered for a night in Great Harbour (where the restaurant will still relieve you of $40 for some pretty poorly maintained moorings). More

We spent the afternoon in Great Harbor and really enjoyed our time at Ocean 7. Their space has it all- a small pool overlooking the water, swim beach, great snorkeling just 20 yards off shore and wonderful staff. The blackened tuna was delicious and the... Carib was cold. Not much more you can ask for! Less crowded than other stops, tons of mooring balls to choose from and the best dinghy dock around. More

This restaurant is a gem that sits in a gorgeous little cove at Peter Island. Mooring was simple, and there was fun snorkeling right off the boat along the shore. The restaurant has a perfect view of the moonrise once you have enjoyed the gorgeous... colors of the sunset on the water. The staff is so friendly yet professional and the chef even came out to say hello. The food, oh my, the food was amazing and with every penny. The sea bass was the best I’ve ever had and everything from the drinks, appetizers and desserts were over the top. The whole facility was clean, well maintained and charming. You will miss out if you don’t go! More

Peter island is a welcome stop on a BVI tour. We had dinner at Ocean's 7 and the atmosphere was great, food very good, service excellent. The price is on the high side but not much more than Norman island or other island restaurants. We... were both very happy with our choices and the meal. Only disappointment was they were out of Key Lime pie! More

A beautiful place to stop, we only had time to have a cocktail and hang out for a bit. I had a margarita that was very good. I don’t know about the food But the atmosphere is very nice and they were very friendly there.... My husband needed a Band-Aid because he had cut himself and they went and got him one. More

Lots of reviews on lots of sites question if this place is open, and if they are will they be able to serve your group. Yes and Yes! the place is beautiful, the staff is excellent and the food was amazing. Get the Conch fitters... and the Mahi. We have a very nice dinner on our last night and they help throw our friend a birthday party. If you are near Peter Island go! More

We had a great experience here. More people need to mark this place as a stop! There’s a small pool, good food, sweet staff, great outside spot, private beach. Put this place on your agenda if you can! We had a completely difference experience than... the March 2022 review. Snobby American boaters need to remember - we are on island time. More

This was our last dinner of the trip. Very quiet Island, but a very pretty little harbor. We had a lovely dinner and the service was very good. I would highly recommend this place on the last night of your trip , we were very... close to the Nanny Cay Marina . So we were able to catch our 12:30 flight the next day. More

We spent our last night here and everything was wonderful. The food was the best of all of the meals we had. Camille is a wonderful chef. Ella was gracious, fun and attentive. We loved the small fresh water pool, the covered patio and beautiful... scenery. More

Would definitely recommend adding this stop to your itinerary. Restaurant is beautiful. Features a pool, new large floating dock. Good food and drinks. New mooring balls. While visiting great harbor seen two dolphins playing and a sea turtle swimming about. Found beach glass.

New Cape Coral Yacht Club designs: Most on council like a coastal, Key West vibe

Given three different design options for the new Yacht Club Community Center , most of the Cape Coral City Council is leaning toward a coastal, Key West-flavor architecture.

At a committee of the whole meeting on Wednesday, the city sought direction from the council on a design direction for the outside of the community building.

"It's a concept, just like we do with anything else, and as we are designing, things may come up that we want to shift and be nimble (on)," said Cape Coral City Manager Michael Ilczyszyn.

James Pankonin with Kimley Horn, a consulting firm focusing on public and private developments, presented the information about the look of the community building.

Cape Coral's Yacht Club Community Park, which includes a yacht basin, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a ballroom, and a beach, has been a popular attraction and staple for the city since the 1960s but is set to undergo major renovations after Hurricane Ian delayed the original plans .

The current plans include a new two-story community center to replace the ballroom, removing the tennis courts, rearranging the area to accommodate a four-story parking garage, a new restaurant, and a new resort-style pool.

The city is also preparing for the demolition of the Yacht Club and its facilities in April as it awaits permits.

No estimates could be provided for the price of the new building.

"It will really come into how much of certain materials are needed and construction methods," Ilczyszyn said.

The city will have that information once they have 30% of the construction design.

Two public meetings for the designs are planned for April 2 and May 7.

After getting public input, the city will vote to amend its contract with Kimley Horn to approve all these changes.

The plan is to have these changes approved or introduced before the summer hiatus.

New Designs for the Yacht Club building

John Bryant with Sweet Sparkman Architecture and Interiors, a Sarasota-based design firm, said the goal with the new designs was to maintain the experience of the original Yacht Club.

The majority of the council preferred option one.

Design one:

Bryant described the first option as "coastal vernacular" and similar to the park buildings at Lake Kennedy and Yellow Fever Creek.

"So it's sort of informed by the current architectural work in 2024," Bryant said. "Kinda Key West."

Councilmember Dan Sheppard and Mayor John Gunter preferred option one.

Gunter said the design was the most pleasing for him.

Councilmember Keith Long liked option one and said he liked the Key West aesthetic.

Councilmember Tom Hayden liked option one.

Design two:

Option two is more informed by the current Yacht Club and would have a stone base and mid-century feel to it, according to Bryant.

"There's certainly opportunity to kind of further develop this option to have even more of the existing Yacht Club feel, but a different vibe, feel than option one," Bryant said.

He also said option two might be more expressive the closer they try to recreate the aesthetic of the old ballroom building.

Councilmember Jessica Cosden liked design two as it incorporated design elements of the old building though she lamented how similar it looked to the first design.

"I wish we could have done more, but I know it's hard with a two-story building, to make it look the same as a very unique one-story building.

Councilmember Bill Steinke said two would be his choice as well, but was wary of additional maintenance of natural wood products used in the design.

"As long as we can bring that aesthetic and keep the maintenance down, number two would be my choice," Steinke said.

Councilmember Robert Welsh said he could go either way, but he liked the look of two.

Design three:

This would be more contemporary and modern.

"Even with a more contemporary language, you can still have warmth, incorporating some wood elements and stone elements," Bryant said.

None of the council members expressed any favorability for the third design.

Inside the new community center

The Community Center will have an additional 10,000 square feet for a total of 47,000 square feet, a history room to remember the first ballroom building on the first floor, and more rooms for civic and community use on the first floor.

Additionally, the new ballroom has shifted slightly as the balcony area on the second floor has been expanded to wrap around the top of the building.
