Tour Activity Level

The activity level for this tour:

You’re a leisurely traveler. You typically take it easy and discover the energy of a new place by people-watching or soaking in the atmosphere at a local café. You can climb at least one flight of stairs, board a coach, and walk unassisted at a relaxed pace for up to 60 minutes without difficulty. You can easily handle altitudes up to 5,000 feet.

You like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can partake in a two-hour leisurely walking tour, covering up to two miles (with included breaks). You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. There may be 1 to 2 days on this tour when walking tours can cover 3 to 4 miles over uneven terrain. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet.

You’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isn’t a big deal. A moderately paced two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.

You’re ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don’t mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices.

Jennifer Lopez on "SNL"

Jennifer Lopez is hitting the road this summer for her This Is Me Now… The Tour . On Thursday morning (Feb. 15), the singer announced the 30+ city tour in support of her new album, This Is Me… Now , which is due out on Friday (Feb. 16).

Ben Affleck’s Song That Jennifer Lopez Dunked on in Dunkin’s 2024 Super Bowl Ad Is…

Trending on billboard.

In an interview this week, Lopez said her first studio LP since 2014’s A.K.A. is “the best album that I’ve ever made … The most honest and true – it took a long time for me as a musical artist to get there. I’m really happy and proud of this in a way that I don’t think I ever have been before.”

Lopez’s ninth album is a sequel of sorts to her 2002 This Is Me… Then collection, which she released when she was first dating Ben Affleck, to whom she is now married. “They’ve followed me on that journey and watched me make mistakes and go in and out of relationships and wondered what was going on,” JLo said about her fans.

Lopez and Affleck split in 2004, then reunited in 2021 and tied the knot in a surprise Las Vegas wedding in July 2022 – 20 years after the original album’s release. The new album also features a sequel to a track from the first  This Is Me  album, “Dear Ben Pt. II,” plus the previously released dance-y single “ Can’t Get Enough .”

Usher announces tour for 'Coming Home' album: Dates and how to get tickets

america's music cities tour

Usher has a confession — " Yeah! ," he's coming to your city.

The multi-Grammy-winning singer announced the Usher: Past Present Future Tour to promote his upcoming album "Coming Home," out Friday, just days before his headlining Super Bowl 58  halftime show, presented by Apple Music, at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday in Las Vegas.

Now, more fans around the country have the chance to see him in person for a 24-city arena tour starting in Washington, D.C. in August and ending in Chicago in October.

He previously described  the album as a "love letter … to the legacy of my career."

'Oh, I'm ruined': Usher reveals the most 'personal' song on new album 'Coming Home'

Usher, 45, ended his sold-out Las Vegas residency in December after 100 shows, but many people have called on the "King of R&B" to take his talent on the road.

"Vegas has offered an opportunity to celebrate the past and celebrate the records, the No. 1s, the connection to the audience, the entertainment," Usher told USA TODAY for The Essentials series in November. "And then the Super Bowl moment offers not only that, but then a segue into the next chapter," teasing "Coming Home."

The singer/songwriter's chart-topping 2004 album "Confessions" has sold over 15 million copies worldwide and is the  best-selling R&B album of the 21st century  by a male artist.

"Confessions" celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, so it's possible he'll incorporate some throwback songs on this tour.

It's been a decade since Usher's last tour, aptly titled The UR Experience, which ran from 2014 to 2015.

How to get Usher tour tickets

Presale tickets for Citi card members and Verizon users will be available starting on Feb. 7. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead.

Citi and Verizon presale tickets can be purchased from Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. local time until Feb. 11 at 10 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program and Verizon Up , respectively.

General sale begins on Monday at 10 a.m. local time at LiveNation.com .

Did Kid Rock, Jason Aldean cancel New York tour in support of Trump? Here’s what we know

  • Updated: Feb. 20, 2024, 5:07 a.m. |
  • Published: Feb. 20, 2024, 5:00 a.m.

Jason Aldean

Country star Jason Aldean will be a headliner at seven Rock the Country festivals in 2024, along with Kid Rock. (Photo by Amy Harris/Invision/AP)

Kid Rock and Jason Aldean took New York right off their list of stops for their upcoming tour together in support of former President Donald Trump.

If you spent any time on social media, particularly Elon Musk’s X, formerly Twitter, on Monday you probably saw that.

  • WANT MORE COUNTRY MUSIC NEWS? CLICK HERE.

But is it true?

Specifically, the headline folks picked up and helped spin around social media read, “Kid Rock and Jason Aldean Remove New York from the ‘You Can’t Cancel America’ Tour: “We Support 45.”

And … we may be doomed.

  • Country music legend’s granddaughter to compete on ‘American Idol’
  • Kid Rock’s heartbreaking announcement has fans sending prayers on social media
  • Donald Trump’s new $399 shoe created a social media stir. Here’s what folks are saying
  • Donald Trump tried to sell $399 shoes at Sneaker Con in Philly. It didn’t go well
  • Toby Keith was among country music’s richest singers. Here’s where his net worth ranked in the top 10

The headline and story come from The Dunning-Kruger Times , and that site has been masterful in proving that people don’t really read anything anymore.

Click on the “About Us” section on the site, read the first sentence, and you are informed that it is part of a “network of parody, satire, and tomfoolery, or as Snopes called it before they lost their war on satire: Junk News.”

Had anyone completed that sentence, the site then has, in big letters, an “About Satire” section where it clearly defines what satire is.

  • Country music stars who have died in 2024

Go down one more section — the folks who were loving this story might want to pay attention to this part — and the site has an “About Taters,” section. What are “Taters” you ask?

“‘Taters’ are the conservative fans of America’s Last Line of Defense,” the site reads. “They are fragile, frightened, mostly older Caucasian Americans. They believe nearly anything.”

To be fair though, both conservatives and liberals appeared to be running with this one.

“Our mission is to do our best to show them the light, through shame if necessary, and to have a good time doing it,” the site adds in that “About Taters” section.

  • Country music star Kenny Chesney shares heartbreaking post after legendary performer’s death
  • Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood shared a kiss on social media and fans are calling him a serial killer in the comments. Here’s why
  • Country music legend opens up following mother’s tragic death
  • Legendary country performers who called it quits in January
  • Former Steelers quarterback celebrates girlfriend’s big country music win at Grammys

So, the site makes it clear this story is satire then openly trolls the folks who don’t get that.

There were clear clues in the story, too. For instance, it says the duo cancelled 12 dates in New York, including the graph where it explains that one bowling alley was going to lose a tour date which was really tough because it was scheduled for the same time as Cosmic Bowling.

Come on people.

Checking out the tour’s page — it’s actually called the “Rock the Country” tour — there’s no such statement. New York is not on the list of stops, though, but it never appears to have been a part of it.

Sadly, for all of us, this appears to have been another win for The Dunning-Kruger Times.

Kings of Leon announces new album, 2024 global tour

Buddy Iahn

  • February 22, 2024

Kings of Leon

Can We Please Have Fun will be available on May 10th

Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum rock band Kings of Leon is kicking off 2024 with a string of major announcements. Alongside news of a new label partnership with Capitol Records, the band has announced their upcoming ninth full-length studio album, Can We Please Have Fun , out on May 10th. The hard-charging lead single, “Mustang” is available now, accompanied by a high-flying music video that sets the pace for the album.

The Nashville rockers have also shared details for a 2024 world tour. The trek, produced by Live Nation in North America, will hit 26 cities across the US and Canada, starting August 14th. Kings of Leon will also tour internationally with a headline set at BST Hyde Park in London on Sunday, June 30th. Additional international dates are to be announced shortly. The general sale for North American tickets will begin Friday, March 1st at 10 am local time via Ticketmaster . Presales start on Wednesday, February 28th.

Can We Please Have Fun , as its title suggests, is a document of one of this era’s great rock and roll bands cutting loose, trying new things, and, yes, having some fun. Recorded at Dark Horse studio in Nashville and produced with new collaborator Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Florence + the Machine) the album sees a new side of Kings of Leon. On the new album, the band harkens back to their gritty origins while simultaneously finding new gears. It’s the sound of a band unified in vision and purpose, freed from any expectations, and the album the band says they’ve always wanted to make.

America’s Music Cities Will Put a Song in your Heart

If you’re a fan of blues, jazz, country and good old rock ‘n’ roll, this is the tour for you! Whether you’re into reliving the music of your youth or you’d just like to see where it all began, America’s Music Cities tour will not disappoint. Get your dancing shoes and let’s go!

RCA studio B

RCA’s studio B is Nashville’s oldest recording studio. It’s where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Charlie Pride once recorded some of their classic tunes. A visit to the studio reveals how each artist recorded their big hits, but the real fun comes when your tour group gets to record their very own song! You may not be very good, but you’ll have bragging rights for sure. Not many people can say they recorded a song at Studio B!

Graceland is the former abode of Elvis Presley. There you’ll find his home, original business office, trophy building and exhibits from his life at the palatial 14-acre estate. Visit the Meditation Garden where Elvis and members of his family are laid to rest. Even though you’ve probably seen lots of photos of Graceland, nothing compares to actually standing in the place where The King of rock ‘n’ roll actually lived.

The Jazz revu at the French Quarter jazz club is spectacular. It includes prime seats and a drink. After the revu you can choose to either stay at the bar to hang out with the locals, go back to the hotel to rest your dancing feet, or explore Bourbon Street. If you choose to go to Bourbon Street, prepare to be overwhelmed in the best possible way. It’s definitely something to experience.

Belle Meade Plantation

Visiting this marvelous estate is like stepping back in time. The rags to riches story about the plantation is fascinating as it started out as a humble log cabin on 250 acres and grew to a staggering 5,400-acre thoroughbred horse farm with a mansion, deer park, rock quarry and even a train station! After seeing the estate, a three-course meal and wine tasting held in the beautiful stables is a big treat. (Don’t worry. The horses have moved out.) The food is absolutely delectable and the wine is delicious.

The city tour of Memphis, the home of the blues, rock ‘n’ roll and soul, includes local musicians on board the coach to tell the story of Memphis’ musical heritage and history as you pass by the city’s highlights. It’s hard not to break into song at this point, but it’s ok if you just can’t help it. Join in!

You’ll also thoroughly enjoy your trip to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, Music Row, the Parthenon, the Ryman Auditorium and Beale Street’s music clubs. Fall head over heels for the incredible Cajun and Creole cuisine that leaves many people with some serious cravings once they return home. Not to worry though! There’s a cooking class to teach you how to cook New Orleans-style. This tour includes everything you can imagine and more!

Vampire Weekend announces tour, which includes a stop in Iowa, ahead of album release

Vocalist Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend performs at Hinterland this summer.

American rock band Vampire Weekend has announced a huge 2024 North American tour kicking off in April along with dropping two new tracks, "Capricorn" and "Gen-X Cops." Both appear on their forthcoming fifth studio, "Only God Was Above Us," which will be released on April 5.

The New York-based band will make 44 stops on the "Only God Above Us Tour." Five tour stops are at music festivals, including the Hinterland Music Festival in Saint Charles. The "Only God Above Us Tour" is the band's first major tour since 2019.

Vampire Weekend will be the headlining act for night two of Hinterland, marking their first time stopping at the indie music festival.

Who else plays on day two of Hinterland?

Along with the indie rockers, Lizzy McAlpine, a singer-songwriter, will also perform on Saturday of the festival. Saturday's lineup also features country artist Charley Crockett, Alabama-based group Red Clay Strays, Los Angeles singer-songwriter Madison Cunningham, folk-rock ensemble Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners, singer-songwriter Blondshell (Sabrina Teitelbaum), and Vermont singer-songwriter Hans Williams.

More: Hinterland Music Festival in St. Charles just dropped its 2024 lineup. See who's headlining.

How to get tickets to Hinterland

Most ticket packages for Hinterland are sold out. However, one-day general admission and VIP tickets are available for Saturday's installation. With general admission, festival-goers receive complimentary tent camping at the Outerland Campground for the day of purchase. Shuttle services between Des Moines and St. Charles are also included at no extra cost during the festival day covered by the ticket. General admission tickets are available on hinterlandiowa.com and cost $145

One-day VIP tickets grant admission to Hinterland for a single day of the festival, offering an elevated experience with added amenities beyond those included in the general admission ticket. VIP ticket holders enjoy access to a dedicated VIP section featuring prime stage viewing access, a private bar, and air-conditioned restrooms for enhanced comfort. Additionally, VIP ticket holders receive complimentary tent camping privileges in the VIP Campground, with the option to upgrade to a VIP Powered RV Campsite if preferred. VIP tickets cost $275 on hinterlandiowa.com.

Other acts coming to the festival include Grammy-nominated artists, Hozier, who will headline the festival on Friday, and Noah Kahan, who will headline the final night of the weekend. Other notable acts include rising pop star Chapelle Roan and experimental rocker Ethel Cain.
