Fabulous customer service. After a recent motorhome holiday we plumped to buy our own one, we visited a few showrooms but this was the only one who offered help and advice (and great coffee) without being pushy. Super friendly family run business who made the decision to buy that much easier, thanks to everyone .

2019 Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line 80 motorhome
Published in Caravan Guard News , Motorhome Reviews on 12/04/2019 - 1 Comment
Upping the Italian ante!
An Italian lesson? There’s an interesting take on a much favoured British end lounge floorplan here, packed up with bags of flair and a specification that wants for nothing. Indeed, the only factory-fitted extra available is automatic transmission – unless you count altering the maximum weight limit. But, more of that later.
For now, feel free to marvel at this, one of three K-Yacht A-class motorhome models bearing the Tekno Line descriptor (hence the high kit count). It’s based on Fiat’s Ducato chassis-cowl, with 2.3-litre, 150bhp engine.
On this, the timber-free, GRP-clad bodywork is added at a motorhome manufacturing facility in deepest Italy that is dedicated to making A-class motorhomes.
There’s also instant proof of how seriously Mobilvetta is taking the UK market. That body has the habitation and cab doors (and hence much of the interior) switched to the correct sides for UK use.
Other features such as the 16in alloy wheels and coach-style mirrors (electrically operated and heated) point towards the premium nature of this product.
Step inside and it’s eyes right towards that end lounge. The “eco leather” . seating is actually L-shaped, with a low-level furniture unit stretching along the nearside that’s home to, among other things, a slide-up holder for a TV screen.
The pedestal leg table has electric height operation, as well as manual fore and aft adjustment.
Overhead, meanwhile, there’s an electrically-operated double bed that can glide down to any level when you’re ready for sleep. Dimensions of 2.10m x 1.40m are on the generous side here, but there’s also a second, more conventional A-class pull-down double (1.90m x 1.35m) at the front.
There’s more seating at the front, too, thanks to a conventional continental set-up of L-shaped settee-cum-double travel seat behind the driver. Plus swivel cab seats and a single inward-facing seat. Again, this seating is around a fixed pedestal leg table.
Mid-‘van, then, is taken by the kitchen (nearside) and washroom (offside). The former has a hob comprising two gas rings and an induction area. Alongside, there’s a deep, inset circular sink with loose cover that doubles as an extra kitchen shelf when slotted into fixings above the sink.
It almost seems as if the fridge and wardrobe are in the wrong places. The 150-litre fridge/freezer, along with a combined oven and grill, is diagonally across the corridor from the kitchen, while the wardrobe is next door to the main cooking and food preparation area. It’s just a thought…
Directly opposite the kitchen, the washroom is home to the usual trio of shower cubicle, swivel-bowl toilet and (countertop, in this case) basin. There’s a translucent window behind the toilet, and a good array of storage (open shelving, low- and high-level lockers) and again, lots of details: soap dispenser, towel rail, toothbrush mug, shower duckboard.
Underfloor heating is somewhere near the top of a long list of kit, all standard, that comes with each Tekno Line K-Yacht. It works independently of the Truma Combi 6 that supplies hot water and conventional blown air heating.
All manner of other features and style touches are here, too. Extensive LED lighting. The high-gloss finish to much of the furniture. Lots of chrome detailing. A 130Watt solar panel. External sockets (gas, mains electric and shower). Automatic cab air conditioning. USB sockets. The list goes on.
A rear-view camera is part of the Zenec stereo system with DAB and satnav, and will lead to a motorhome insurance discount .
Only standard sprung cassette blinds and flyscreens to the main windows is the sole surprise.
OK, so there’s not going to be much you’re going to want to add to your Mobilvetta. That’s just as well. Do ask about the chassis upgrade options, though. If your driving licence allows, the free-of-charge 3,650kg rebadge ups the payload to a more respectable 490kg.
Verdict : High-spec’, well-priced A-class with presence
Plus : Oodles of equipment, stylish looks inside and out, well priced
Minus : Low payload on standard chassis rating
In-a-nutshell : What’s Yacht to like?
There’s more information on the K-Yacht range on the Mobilvetta website . Find out more about insuring this or your current motorhome on our motorhome insurance discounts page.

How would you rate this article?
Just be wary, Marquis do not carry spare parts so everything has to come form Italy and takes many weeks.
Also body panel parts are outrageously expensive and have gone up 58% this year!
I would be unlikely to buy another at such costs.

Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-85 2017
Published: August 16, 2017
You can indulge in A-class luxury and style on a 3500kg chassis with this Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-85 – but just how tempting is it?
Mobilvetta is one of a handful of motorhome brands (the others being Itineo , Rapido and Pilote , at least in Essentiel spec) that offers A-class ’vans at prices close to what ordinary folk can afford.
This Mobilvetta is a good £10k cheaper than Adria and Bürstner models with similar layouts, although they include Alde heating and a slightly higher specification.
But there are enough innovations inside Mobilvetta’s K-Yacht MH-85, including the underfloor heating and the clever kitchen, to make this a motorhome you can really grow into, even if there are one or two niggles – like the night-lights.
With Marquis Leisure’s input, you get a much more UK-friendly spec too, but you would be wise to opt for the free chassis upgrade, driving licence permitting, of course.
The kitchen has been cleverly thought out You can get a good amount in the rear garage, plus there are handy storage nets and a light/torch
Lots of lighting inside is great, but we felt it was a bit too much – especially when trying to turn them all off There’s so much storage space that it’s easy to overload the ’van!
Mobilvetta may sound and look Italian, and although it is Italian built, mamma mia , as with so much else in the motorhome industry these days, it is actually part of a much larger multi-national concern – in this case, the French-owned Trigano Group.
Despite such support, it had been largely absent from the UK market for most of the past decade, a result of the late-2000s financial crisis that saw the Italian motorhome market contract by as much as one fifth.
That was up until the start of the 2017 season, though, when the UK’s biggest motorhome and caravan dealer network, Marquis Leisure, keen to add an A-class brand to its portfolio, brought Mobilvetta back to British forecourts.
Don’t forget that Marquis is already enjoying no little success with Benimar , itself another Trigano brand.
So far, potential UK buyers have only seen three models from the brand’s K-Yacht Tekno Line , which, surprise surprise, has been designed to incorporate elements of nautical style.
Earlier this season, we tested the K-Yacht MH-80 , which carries an innovative rear-lounge layout.
Now we’re taking the K-Yacht MH-85 , with single beds in the back and a drop-down double bed over the dinette, for a spin through rural Northamptonshire and a thorough live-in test.
The cooking area is one of the best we have seen in recent times
A front dinette is usually going to be a space challenge in a motorhome with fixed beds.
Here in the Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-85 it is less so, because the designers have found enough space to incorporate an L-shaped seat and a small side seat to the right of the habitation door.
But even if our team-mate did fall asleep on the move, these seats are really only moderately comfy when the motorhome is stationary. The main bench in particular seems very upright.
You would probably be more inclined, as we were, to use the swivelled cab seats if it is just the two of you. They would certainly give you a prime position for watching the TV if you were to install one on the bracket fitted to the left of the habitation door.
The table is fully adjustable, but we found it was always a little far out from the side seat, which, like the bench, is not super comfortable.
The seat is, however, a useful place for putting on any shoes you might keep in the nearby cubbyhole in the double floor.
The lounge is adequately heated with one vent to the side and another by the door. There is one mains socket in this area, which is a bit of a squeeze to get to as it is under the L-shaped seat, but the sockets in the kitchen are nearby.
A rooflight keeps this area bright and airy, even taking the drop-down bed into account, and alongside those LED striplights there are plenty of LED spotlights, including four in a row by the drop-down bed’s curtain, plus two by the door that come on automatically as you enter the motorhome.
The drop-down bed has speakers in its base, too.
The cooking area in the Mobilvetta K-Yacht Tekno Line MH-85 is one of the best we have seen in recent times. There is only a three-burner hob, but it is cleverly tucked into the corner, and there is a large sink with a cover that alternates as a chopping board and fits into a slot on a rail that runs along the top of the partition by the sink.
That’s a useful idea, although we would be tempted to swap the board’s position with the paper towel holder that also sits on this rail so that the board is directly over the bin behind the sink, and all food waste can simply be scraped off and dropped in.
The whole work surface is well lit, with a 12V and mains socket next to the light switch, and there’s even an extractor fan.
There’s another potential resting place for the chopping board on top of the cutlery tray under the worktop. Here, it can form an extension flap.
Two large drawers and an ingenious shelving system that telescopes out next to them means that there is plenty of room for even quite large pans and utensils.
Up above, the two overhead lockers are also large.
Having so much space to hand makes you wonder why the designers bothered with the tiny apothecary shelf across the aisle.
Next to it is a three-way 150-litre Thetford fridge, and a SMEV oven and grill above that – it will be a little high for some, though.
The washroom is split across the middle of this Mobilvetta motorhome.
A stylish-looking stainless-steel basin with a soap dispenser and mug embedded into the worktop around it, and two differently angled mirrors behind it, takes up one side, along with a swivel toilet with toilet roll holder and brush.
There’s also one overhead locker and a cupboard under the basin that is partly obscured by a thin towel rail.
This area, which is partitioned off by a tambour door, also has a window and a roof vent with a fan.
Strangely, you won’t find the latter in the shower cubicle across the aisle, which also only has one drain hole – a sign, perhaps, that this is an affordable A-class.
But the shower head itself looks ultra-modern, and there are solid metal shelves for stowing all your lotions and potions.
The whole washroom area can be partitioned off from the front lounge and kitchen by means of an elegant Japanese-style door.
The comfortable fixed beds at the rear are reached by steps – each measures 2.03 x 0.83m (6’8″ x 2’9″).
The beds are reasonably high, which means you don’t have a huge amount of headroom. But as the mattresses themselves can be raised at the pillow end, support is available for sitting up in bed.
Sleepers get spotlights for reading, while in the middle between the two beds is a very large wooden shelf that could easily serve as a resting place for books.
If you would rather cuddle up for the night, you can pull out an extension over the steps and insert a couple of infills to create a double bed.
The 1.88 x 1.33m (6’2″ x 4’4″) drop-down double bed over the cab was a little more complicated to position than we had expected.
The folded cab seats need to rest an inch or so before their forward-most position, not right at the end. Trying to work this out inevitably involved accidentally sounding the horn, so you might need to be careful if you are putting this bed down late at night.
Once it is deployed, though, you get a bed that is an accessible height, and comes with spotlights and a rooflight.
You’re certainly not short of space for clothes in the MH-85.
Along with six overhead lockers in the bedroom, there are two huge wardrobes under the bed, one with a hanging rail and the other with two large shelves.
There are also clever sock shelves in the curve of the wardrobe doors, while two of the steps open up for storage.
The designers have made use of the double floor – not just externally with those two lockers, but also internally with cubbyholes along the centre of the ’van. The one by the fridge is cleverly sub-divided to take large drinks bottles – molto buono!
The excellent garage, meanwhile, has two doors, a light you can remove to use as a torch, and netted storage across the back. It is big enough to take bikes upright.
The only trouble is the modest user payload of 342kg – fill up all the available storage spaces and you’ll end up being overweight.
Buyers with C1 entitlement on their driving licences can get around this by opting for a chassis upgrade to 3650kg, which is free of charge.

Another rare opportunity to own one of the best tough sailing yachts in the world on short notice. This immaculate, hardly used 2014 Bestevaer 49ST is one of the favourite models built by KM Yachtbuilders. This beautiful, complete, modern Bestevaer 49ST " Mate " is clearly the little sister of the “Bestevaer II”, from the famous designer Gerard Dijkstra has built for his own use. The sailing characteristics are excellent and, also due to the presence of the pilot house, make this boat a very comfortable boat for long trips. Now ready to be admired and inspected.

Bestevaer 66, ANABEL
KM Yachtbuilders, Bestevaer 66 Built 2014 / €1,450,000, + VAT
Broker’s Comments
Bestevaer 66, ANABEL is an extraordinary world cruising yacht that was built for her current owner. She has taken him around the world in safety and with total reliability. He was closely involved with her build and she is very much a custom yacht. An enormous amount of care has gone into every aspect of her design and build, providing built in redundancy of her systems and safety for her crew and longevity for her. She has a powerful and easily handled sail plan and a secure cockpit. Her pilothouse is the perfect place for navigating and her pilot house windows were recently replaced with laminated glass which is super strong. She has a comfortable main saloon for living well and 3 good sleeping cabins which are comfortable and safe for her crew in a seaway. Her lifting keel (with 9000kg lead bulb) gives her enormous flexibility and ultimate stability. With her metal construction and robust design profile she is perfect for all oceans and would be secure and safe for high and low latitude sailing as well and for cruising in warmer waters.
ANABEL has been meticulously maintained by her owner with a series of works when laid up in New Zealand. Recently her underwater profile has been taken back and re-coated and she has new standing rigging.
Yachts with this level of capability and also those that are so well proven, rarely come to the market and ANABEL is very special. Everywhere you look there are design touches that are unique to her and very smart. She is a great alternative to commissioning new build if you have a very serious cruising programme in mind.

Owner’s Comments
ANABEL has many admirers around the world. In every port I have been to, people have come by to have a look and express amazement. Many old salts have been on board, and all of them liked the yacht (even the Coastguard).
The yacht is quite a machine, and the new owner will get in depth explanation of all the details. Since I am the only person to know the yacht in detail, I am willing to spend a week or more, to transfer all knowledge to the new owner.

The new Bestevaer 36 from renowned naval architect Gerard Dijkstra is the smallest ever boat in the history if the Besteaver brand
Product Overview
In a world in which yachts are constantly becoming larger, this Dutch brand is bucking the trend, with the smallest-ever model in its 20-year history. It’s intended to offer performance along with shoal draught and the ability to safely dry out on a beach.
These rugged aluminium pilothouse cruisers have always reflected what former professional skipper and renowned naval architect Gerard Dijkstra wants in a boat of his own: a safe, comfortable, and good-looking yacht for unrestricted, short-handed sailing. It has proved to be the perfect formula for a lifetime of ocean sailing, high latitude work and solo racing.
The Bestevaer 36 follows in a similar spirit, but is also intended as a boat in which Dijkstra can spend extended periods in the shallow waters, lakes and coastlines close to home that he has not previously had time to explore in detail.
“The Bestevaer 36 is a high-performance little yacht. It’s a very easy boat to sail and versatile as well,” he says. “It will easily take you around the world but is also ideal for cruising the local wetlands.”
This vessel therefore needed to be a sufficiently compact yacht to easily fit in small harbours and marinas, with the ability to dry out when sailing in the beautiful Wadden Sea nearby. Yet it still retains all the distinctive features of the brand’s larger yachts including aluminium construction, watertight fore and aft bulkheads, plumb bow, practical pilothouse and deep bulwarks.
Galley is to port, heads and diesel heater to starboard of the companionway. Light comes from overhead hatches and strong hull portlights
The two tonne ballasted centreboard provides a generous 2.4m draught when lowered. This is combined with a big rig to give good sailing performance on all points of sail, including close-hauled and light airs. Yet the board retracts fully into the canoe body, reducing draught to only 0.7m and creating a flat surface on which to dry out safely on the hull’s thick bottom plating.
Like the larger Bestevaers, this boat was conceived at the outset to offer crew plenty of protection. In addition to seats each side of the pilothouse, which has a 360˚ view, the coachroof extends over the cockpit, creating a very sheltered area. All lines are led aft for easy single-handed operation.
Generous beam helps to provide good form stability, as well as increasing accommodation volumes. The interior has a flexible semi-open plan layout, with three different style options.
The first boat, which will be the designer’s own, is currently in build and scheduled for completion this spring. This example is also being used as a case study for a transition towards more sustainable production processes at KM Yachtbuilders. For instance, 70% of the aluminium is recycled, as is the insulation, while environmentally friendly and largely recycled materials are used for the interior. It has a 15kW OceanVolt electric drive with sufficient battery capacity for four hours of autonomy. This is supplemented with regeneration and a large solar panel array on the pilothouse roof.
A couple of interesting options are offered for sail plans, including a 95% jib on a Hoyt boom, which makes for an enticing combination of very easy handling and excellent sail shape on all points of sail.
To help make up for loss of headsail area a square-top mainsail with 14% more area than the standard pinhead version can be specified.
The standard specification has a very high level of equipment, including the solar panels, electric propulsion package, antifouling wrap and a traditional style floor mounted with a Dickinson Alaska diesel heater.

Iconic 'little blue boat' that calls Montrose Bay home up for sale after family makes tough decision
For almost 50 years a little blue boat has been moored on the River Derwent in Hobart's northern suburbs by the side of a busy highway.
It is known affectionately by many Tasmanians as "the little blue boat", and has floated alone next to the Brooker Highway at Montrose Bay over the decades.
Sea Breeze, its official name, was built by Robin Attrill in his Montrose backyard in the early 1970s.
His son Colin Attrill said the boat was launched at Macquarie Wharf in 1976.
"It's been on the mooring in Montrose Bay ever since, and that's why it's such an iconic little blue boat," he said.
Tasmanians curious about 'little blue boat'
The boat is an object of fascination for Brooker Highway motorists and foreshore walkers due to it seemingly never moving.
Colin Attrill said it was "absolutely amazing" the number of people who would stop and talk to him about the boat when he was launching the dinghy to go and check on it.
"The number of people that talk to me that are walking past and go 'that boat has been there forever' and 'it was there when I was going to school or every day when I've been driving to work'," he said.
"Some people say they've never seen it move. Well it used to move all the time.
"Of late it's slowed up, we're all busy and dad has slowed up. We lost mum and once that happened it impacted on family activities."
Tough decision to sell
Its owner is now 91 and the boat has not been sailed for about 10 years.
Colin Attrill said the family had recently made the tough decision to try to sell the boat.
"Dad isn't well and he's gotten old, which we all do, and the boat's got old," he said.
"Anyone who knows about a timber boat knows that they need maintenance."
Mr Attrill said the family used to put the boat on the slip at least once a year to clean and antifoul it, and do any repairs.
"But the past few years Dad has been unable to do anything, and the boat unfortunately has just sat on the mooring," he said.
He said the family decided it was time for the boat to have a new owner.
"Nobody is using it, it needs a new owner who will give it the time and get the enjoyment out of it that we had growing up," he said.
"It's a great boat, and there are many years left. Wooden boats just last."
'Next phase' for the boat
The Attrill family is full of passionate sailors and Robin's brother Peter represented Australia in sailing at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 — Tasmania's fifth Olympian and the first to represent the state in sailing.
When Robin finished building the 25-foot river cruiser, known by the family as The Breeze, it was used for trips away around Hobart.
"We used to have family trips down the channel, down to Cygnet, down to Dover, and all places in between fishing and weekends away," he said.
"We also used to go to events in Hobart like the Hobart Regatta, the Sandy Bay Regatta. We'd be down the river at any chance, or up the river. She made it to New Norfolk a couple of times.
"The boat was all over the place, wherever we could."
Mr Attrill said it would be a sad day when the boat left Montrose Bay after almost 50 years.
"We will see where it goes and where it ends up and what's the next phase for the boat," he said.
Over the years its owner has been keeping a watchful eye on it just a matter of metres away, across the Brooker Highway from his Montrose home of more than 70 years.
"He's always been there. He'd open the blinds in the morning in the kitchen and look out the window and there's the boat," son Colin said.
"It's always been a part of his life."

Vitruvius Yachts reveals 46m superyacht designed for the Bahamas
British design studio Vitruvius Yachts has revealed a new superyacht concept known as the Vitruvius Palm Beach. The 46-metre project is available for sale with Worth Avenue Yachts and has been tailored specifically for the North American market.
Several prominent shipyards are "currently bidding to bring this vision to life," according to the broker, with construction expected to begin next year.
The superyacht is designed with a low draft of two metres, making it best suited to shoal draft locations such as the Bahamas, Florida and The Chesapeake.
Accommodation is across five lower deck cabins, plus quarters for nine crew. The owner's cabin would be full-beam and features an office, dressing area, his and hers bathrooms and fold-down balcony.
While the interior designer is unconfirmed, preliminary renderings reveal a pared back, contemporary aesthetic. The main saloon benefits from full-height windows, a "convertible" lounging and dining area for 10 guests as well as a dedicated lounge starboard.
The main deck is fitted with a formal bar and second convertible seating area aft. Another major convivial space is the sundeck, which has a large sunbathing area, a bar, barbecue and a Jacuzzi.
Meanwhile, the beach club features a pool that can operate with freshwater or saltwater. Bulwarks open either side to form a larger lounging area, which is arranged with several sunpads.
The concept also includes a tender garage able to accommodate a six-metre and two jet skis, thanks to a Solas-compliant sliding beam crane and fold-up shell door for launching and loading.
Vitruvius Palm Beach would be powered by twin CAT 32 engines for a maximum speed of 15.7 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
This reveal follows the delivery of Vitruvius Yachts' 65.7-metre Alchemy .
