Combining home-from-home comfort with genuine sailing performance is no easy task, and most boats will tend towards one or the other. Arguably, Bavaria has pulled off a genuine balance of the two with smart design and state-of-the art construction in this fast cruiser.

Weight has been saved in build with the use of carbon fibre reinforced bulkheads, hull and stringers, while stiffness and safety have been built in with a stainless steel keel frame. Bavaria’s own vessel management system uses the latest in connected technology to make controlling the boat and its systems a doddle, and the sail handling systems make short-handed sailing almost effortless.

Light enough for calm-weather sailing and stable enough for heavier weather, the C65 offers reliable and fast performance across the conditions. In 16 knots true breeze, you’ll be sailing to windward at over 8.5 knots, and off the wind with the 288m2 gennaker set, you’ll be up to nearly 12 knots.

Comforts of home

With speed and comfort like that, it’s the perfect boat for easy day sails in the Mediterranean with friends and family, or for taking on the more serious challenges of blue water cruising. It is clear that Bavaria’s design team are enthusiastic about proper sailing and they have made a yacht for those that share their enthusiasm for the feel of wind and water.

That’s not bad for a boat that is finished to a very high quality and provides all the comforts of home. Details like the full-sized upright fridge, biggest-in-class work top area in the galley, a TV that rises from behind a settee in the saloon, and generous double beds make this yacht at least as comfortable as home, if not more so.

Owners can customise their boat to a high degree, with numerous layout options available below deck, making each boat truly unique.

Stepping aboard, a number of features and innovations are immediately apparent: the dinghy garage inside the large fold-down bathing platform sits below a wet bar and barbecue/grill; a large cockpit seating area with two separate tables and sunbathing areas is the largest in class.

Below decks, Bavaria claims its luxurious owner’s cabin, as well as the bathroom and galley, are all largest in class. The saloon and cabins are all flooded with plenty of natural light, thanks to the rows of hatches running along both sides the coachroof, as well as generous hull windows.

This is the largest yacht Bavaria has built to date and is their new flagship. They have done an impressive job that takes the marque into the next level of luxury. It’s a strong showing in the 55ft to 75ft size range, in what is a flourishing sector for new yachts.

Sailing revolution for Bavaria Yachts. Three new high-end models for demanding owners: Bavaria C45, Bavaria C50 and Bavaria C65, the largest boat never built.

Bavaria Yachts unveils three new sailboats: Bavaria C45, Bavaria C50 and Bavaria C65

With almost 40 years of experience in boat building, the world-famous German boatyard could not fail to join D ü sseldorf Boat Show with the best of its current and future production. Producing affordable boats for anyone, the boatyard has established itself as one of the world’s top sailboat manufacturers, especially in the ’90s. Today, the range of products offered by Bavaria Yachts is even more sophisticated and, after the presentation of the new entries at Boot D ü sseldorf, the desire to raise the game and set sights on “ maxi boats” has become clear. Among the novelties in the “C” sailing line, if the 45- and the 50-footer meet the size standards of the Bavarian brand, the new 65-footer represents, on the contrary, the first step on a carefully matured path.

“Beautiful” and ” versatile” are the adjectives which best express the key features of the smallest new model, the Bavaria C45 .  Based on the Studio Cossutti -designed lines of the C57, the new creation features the same large windows and the two-step deckhouse of the 50-footer.

A key feature of all the new models, the deckhouse not only contributes to flood interiors with a huge amount of natural light but also provides the boat with sporty, streamlined lines . More specifically, Studio Cossutti has wanted to borrow from the automotive design a concept of versatility which becomes extremely useful even in boat building. And it’s from this conceptual basis that three different lines originate, specifically designed to meet the needs of three different types of customers: Holiday , Style and Ambition .

In the first case, the reference customer is close to the chartering world and the boat offers surprising solutions for this size category. The Bavaria C45 Holiday features a large garage in the stern which, thanks to a crane system , enables the owner to launch the tender quite easily. Sailing equipment is complete and guarantees a safe cruising experience even with small crew (the boat can even be steered by one single person) thanks to a self-tacking jib and a mainsail sheet with no traveler system. Decorated with fine mahogany woodwork, interiors are offered in different layout options . This is, in fact, the only boat of the category which offers a 5-cabin version including four double cabins, a bunk-bedded cabin and two bathrooms. Three- and four-cabin versions are equally available and equipped with an additional environment which can become a utility room or a separate shower compartment.

The dinette layout is the same in all versions , with a C-shaped enveloping sofa, a central table and a linear sofa on the opposite side. Fully-equipped and L-shaped, the galley is positioned on the port side while the chart table is on the starboard side and benefits from the sofa settee stretching towards the stern . The Bavaria C45 Style targets anyone looking for comfort and style. More equipped than the previous version, she features a composite bowsprit , a built-in jib furler and a teak deck. Behind the rudders, seating hide a barbecue grill and a sink while the cockpit table is modular. The interior layout of the dinette is the same in all three versions but, of course, the C45 Style devotes greater attention to details and the fore master cabin plays a central role.

Finally, the Bavaria C45 Ambition targets anyone loving the sporty side of sailing . Even if fitted with the same elegant clear oak interiors, the boat has a slightly more dynamic design if compared with the other two versions . The tender garage and the outdoor wet bar disappear while the mast and the sail plan guarantee better sailing performance. The stern remains openable and extra draft (up to 2.60 m) is offered as an optional.

The second novelty of this boat show – the Bavaria C50 – follows the same building philosophy of her “younger sister”. Infused superstructures, light displacement, modular hull and sturdiness are the highlights of this boat. As with the 45-footer, the C50 comes in three different versions: “Holiday”, “Style” and “Ambition”. Without prejudice to the conceptual differences between the three versions, the larger size of the 50-footer makes this creation  a significantly more welcoming and more usable boat . Exhibited at the boat show in her “Style” version, the Bavaria C50 has captured visitors’ attention with her high building quality , exquisite woods, sophisticated upholstery and high customization possibilities.

The third and last Bavaria Yachts’ “new entry” is a blue water cruiser . Named Bavaria C65 , the boat is intended to make the German boatyard enter the world of maxi, top exclusive boats.

The hull is produced using Bavaria Yachts’ sophisticated vacuum infusion process and reinforced with extra carbon . This has the fortunate side-effect of reducing weight and maximizing both sturdiness and aesthetical appeal.

The dark-coloured hull exhibited at the boat show, contrasted with the teak deck and the gelcoat elements, was certainly modern, elegant and not exaggerated. The deck of the new Bavaria C65 is surprisingly well-arranged and uncluttered : side-decks are unencumbered and shroud chain plates are positioned laterally . The alternation between teak and dark glass windows contributes to give this cruiser an exclusive, elegant look.

The cockpit is huge and with symmetric lines. Two C-shaped sofas envelop a central walk-around table. The double rudder system includes two symmetric columns equipped with state-of-the-art navigation instruments and twin touchscreen monitoring displays. The stern is home to a large tender garage while the life raft is exaclty where it should be: a small aft locker, located within crew’s reach.

Even if the version exhibited at the boat show was equipped with a crew cabin , the steering of the Bavaria C65 is not only extremely easy but can also be managed by only one person. The dinette offers surprisingly wide volumes. A narrow strip of windows running from the mast to the cockpit makes the yacht look significantly more spacious and airy. On the port side, the chart table is as large as a conventional desk while a C-shaped sofa envelops a large table on the starboard side. Opposite, and separated from a real “corridor”, a linear sofa hides a 40-inch tv cabinet. Interiors include two symmetric cabins, each equipped with en-suite bathroom . Forward of the salon, on a slightly lower level, is a welcoming, fully-equipped galley while the master cabin is positioned in the bow.

Minimal but really elegant, the master cabin is furnished with a beautiful walk-around double bed. A walk-in closet , a tv screen, an en-suite bathroom and a separated shower compartment complete this environment which, as well as the dinette, represents the beating heart of interiors.

The Bavaria C65 is powered by a Yanmar 110hp engine. The 900-liter fuel tank and the 1,300-liter water capacity reveal the manifest ocean propensity of this yacht.

Bavaria Yachts presents its new flagship in the sailing range, the Bavaria C65, thus expanding the new C-line which was launched at boot Düsseldorf 2017 with the world premiere of the C57 at the top end. The Bavaria C65 not only replaces the Bavaria C57 as the flagship of the Giebelstadt shipyard, but is also the largest ship ever to be built by Bavaria Yachts.

A new strategic focus With their C65, which offers many individualized layout options below deck, Bavaria Yachts addresses the rapidly growing market of sailing yachts between 55 to 75 feet and push their a new strategic focus. The concept of the Bavaria C65, based on an elegant and modern design, targets experienced sailors with the highest demands. As a fast cruiser with extremely safe sailing characteristics, the C65 is ideal for blue water sailing but can also be sailed on holiday trips by smaller crews or even single handed.

Dynamic design A racy rig, a flat, tidy deck layout and clear, elegant lines of the hull characterize the noble appearance of the Bavaria C65. The flat superstructure, with a narrow window band extending from the cockpit to the mast, and the large windows in the hull, which ideally adapt to the sleek hull, highlight the dynamic design of the Bavaria C65 and visually stretch its length, giving it a sporty, elegant look.

Well organizes deck layout On deck and in the spacious cockpit, the Bavaria C65 features a twin helm and rudder as well as a clearly structured layout, allowing all tasks at hand to be manged easily. Areas for sailing and those for relaxing are clearly set appart and designed accordingly. Two large seating areas, each with its own table, invite guests to enjoy the time at sea or in port in the cockpit. On the cabin roof both sides of the hatch opening, there are two spacious sunbathing areas, where you can enjoy the sun. Of course, the Bavrai C65 has large swimming platform at the stern as can be expected from a yacht this size, inviting you to take a swim or prepare for your next dive. When deployed, the bathing platform also opens up access to the dinghy garage, which offers ample space for a jet tender and various other toys such as diving equipment or SUP boards.

Impressive space If the Bavaria C65 looks slender on the outside, the impression below decks is completely different. The concept of the Bavaria C65 is a convincing one not least due to the enormous amount of space available, no matter whether one chooses the 3- or 4-double cabins layout options. Even more so, both also offer an additional double cabin with bunk beds in the bow. Everywhere below deck there is always enough room to allow freedom of movement, even if you take the maximum of 10 people on board. Comfort for all guests on board The Bavaria C65 also has a lot to offer in terms of comfort. All cabins in the 3-cabin layout have full bathrooms with separate shower cubicles and even the crew cabin in the bow has its own bathroom. All areas below deck are bright with daylight and a friendly atmosphere thanks to the many skylights and hull windows. The modern, high quality and fully equipped kitchen is set apart from the extremely spacious saloon, which invites you to enjoy company with its spacious and comfortable seating.

Bavaria C65, the Prestigious German Yacht Builder’s New Flagship

Bavaria C65 is the newest and at the same time the biggest sailing yacht built by the prestigious German Yard. They say in the brochure that this model is a perfect balance between elegant design, spacious accommodation and fast sailing. A nicely formed hull with a steep stern, a long waterline of almost 18 meters and a draft of 3.5 meters all ensure steady handling at sea. A 6.5 tons keel provides the requisite up-righting; it is engaged with the forces of the rig and hull in conjunction with a stainless steel frame and an extremely strong floor assembly. The hull is built using Bavaria’s VacuTec system and it is reinforced with additional carbon. This has the side-effect of reducing weight while maximizing rigidity.

Bavaria C65 has three cabins and it is very easy to handle by one person alone.

The following video is a walk-through made this year (2018) at Boot Dusseldorf.

There is a lounge area in front of the steering pedestals. It features two cockpit tables where one can enjoy lunch and dinner; these can be lowered and transformed into two large sunbathing areas. Alternatively, one can choose the two sunbathing areas on either side of the ladder-way if one wants to enjoy the sunshine.

In the aft section a barbecue and a wet bar are integrated into the broad bench behind the steering pedestals. This represents the culinary center of the cockpit, whether at port or at anchor.

Bavaria C65 is selling at the moment with $1,5Mil without Vat and other taxes. I think it’s a little too much for my taste, one can find something of a greater quality with under a million.

PREVIEW. The new Bavaria C65 will arrive in autumn

It is the largest yacht ever built by bavaria yachts.

The Bavaria C65 is the new flagship of the Bavaria Yachts fleet of sailing yachts and, following the successful presentation of the Bavaria C57 this spring, is the next logical step in the expansion of the Bavaria C-Line. It is the largest yacht ever built by Bavaria Yachts. 

With the Bavaria C65, Bavaria Yachts brings impetus to the booming market segment of sailing yachts between 55 and 75 feet.

It is the largest yacht ever built by the German yard. Production of the new yacht has already begun. The first sea trials are planned for the autumn.

At 19.45 metres in length and with a breadth of 5.40 metres the Bavaria C65 has a streamlined appearance. Below deck, it’s quite a different story. Whether in the 3-cabin or 4-cabin version, with the skipper cabin in the forecastle, the Bavaria C65 appears luxurious when it comes to space.

The clear line of its hull, its flat wide deck and its sporty rigging define the design of the BAVARIA C65. The large windows in the hull fit elegantly into the line of the hull lending even more dynamism to its length. The dynamic lines of the C65 support the flat design with its narrow strip of windows running from the mast to the cockpit support. The large XXL bathing platform in the stern plays host to the dinghy garage and provides the ideal location for bathing, preparing for a thrilling dive, or enjoying some sunbathing. There is easily enough room in the dinghy garage for a jet tender and other equipment.

Production of the Bavaria C65 has already begun. The first sea trials are planned for the autumn.

Gaining additional practical experience, learning new things and exchanging ideas with each other - more than 35 service technicians from our dealers were able to do all of this during a week-long BAVARIA service workshop at our shipyard.

Last week, the last BAVARIA VISION 42 was completed in Giebelstadt. On Friday morning, part of the BAVARIA YACHTS team gathered to give her a fitting farewell. The sailing yacht celebrated its premiere at the boot Düsseldorf in 2012 and the almost 13 metre long yacht was built in the shipyard for just over 12 years.
